TOWN OF CICERO TOWN COUNCIL STAFF MEETING MINUTES JANUARY 12, 2023 at 7:00 PM Call to Order: President Blueher called the meeting to order. Present: Chad Blueher Absent: Jerry Cook Joe Cox Eric Hayden Chris Lutz Others Present: Rhonda Gary, Clerk Treasurer 1. Town Council – a. 2023 Meeting Location – Mr. Strong informed the council on his town hall renovation progress. In the end, Mr. Strong stated that he will bring back more options as well as the costs associated with those renovations. b. Opioid Fund – Mr. Lutz inquired about the uses of the restricted and unrestricted fund. Chief Overholser had some ideas based on his findings. He and Chief Rednour will work on uses that work for Cicero. c. E-911 – Mr. Lutz stated that Mr. Cox will be the Cicero E-911 Representative moving forward. d. Northern Hamilton County Communications – Mr. Lutz said that that the board will meet next week. e. Parking Study – Mr. Cox updated the council on the parking study. Council seemed to be undecided on moving forward based on the timing and cost of the study. 2. Parks – Superintendent Hunter distributed a handout, but discussion centered mostly around the baseball/softball contract and Mr. Decker. Superintendent Hunter will have more information as the season gets closer. 3. Plan Commission – Mr. Zawadzki updated the council regarding additional EDUs needed for a minor subdivision on Pearl Street. 4. Fire – Chief Overholser touched on reporting to CMS (Center for Medicare Services). He stated that he will work with Ms. Gary to get the report filed. He also briefly talked about a new ambulance rate. And lastly, Chief Overholser stated that the fire administrative assistant position will be filled next week. 1 5. Police – a. Animal Ordinance – Chief Rednour requested that the animal ordinance be revised to include cat colonies which it currently does not. He will work with Mr. Culp on that revision. b. In-Car Cameras – Chief Rednour would like to dispose of the in-car cameras that are outdated and no longer in use. Council was in favor of scrapping. 6. Water/Wastewater – Mr. Cooper would like the council’s blessing to apply for the first round of grants (CCMG) which is due at the on 1/27/23. Ms. Gary will add this to the next council meeting agenda. 7. Clerk Treasurer – Ms. Gary informed the council that W-2s will be sent out on Friday. 8. Community Development – Ms. Kmicikewycz was not present. Mr. Strong informed the council that he sent Ms. Kmicikewycz an email requesting that she follow up with grant opportunities. 9. Project Coordinator – Mr. Strong stated that he is working on the water and wastewater projects and will have more information at a later date.
