FINANCE COMMITTEE APRIL 30, 2019 MINUTES NON-PUBLIC MEETING City Attorney Lance Baker met in a non-public session with all members of the City of Clarksville Finance Committee on Tuesday, April 30, 2019, at 3:30 p.m. in the City Hall Conference Room, 1 Public Square, Clarksville, Tennessee, to discuss the Miller v. Rilling and City case, and the Robinson, et al, v. City case. PUBLIC MEETING CALL TO ORDER The public meeting was called to order by Chairman Jeff Burkhart at 4:22 p.m. ATTENDANCE PRESENT: Jeff Burkhart, Tim Chandler, Valerie Guzman, Jeff Henley, Stacey Streetman CONSIDERATION OF SETTLEMENTS Mr. Baker said efforts to reach a settlement in the Robinson, et al, v. City case were continuing and he would report back to the Finance Committee with new recommendations; no action was taken. Councilman Chandler made a motion to reject the demand of $120,000 in the Miller v. Rilling and City case. The motion was seconded by Councilman Henley. A voice vote was taken; the motion passed without objection. Councillady Streetman made a motion to authorize the City Attorney to make a counter offer in the amount discussed during the non-public session. The motion was seconded by Councilman Henley. A voice vote was taken; the motion passed without objection. ADJOURNMENT The meeting was adjourned at 4:36 p.m.
