COMMON COUNCIL MINUTES August 27, 2024 - 7:00 P.M. Common Council Regular Meeting Common Council Chambers Roll call was taken. PRESENT: EXCUSED: Mayor Keeler Council Member McCarthy Council President Biggs Council Member Izzo Council Member Higgins Council Member Soloyna Council Member McCarthy Council Member Frainier Public Comment: Jim Fenon spoke about a dangerous tree located on Manor Avenue Presentation of quarterly report by Director of Community and Economic Development Presentation of quarterly report by Commissioner of Building and Planning Discussion regarding the speed limit on city streets Discussion regarding amendment to code regarding the storage and disposal of garbage Resolution No. 38 for the year 2024 A Resolution amending the annual budget for Fiscal Year 2024. Council Member Higgins made a MOTION to approve Resolution No. 38 for the year 2024. Seconded by Council President Biggs. All members voted “AYE.” The motion passed. Resolution No. 39 for the year 2024 A Resolution ratifying the terms of a Memorandum of Agreement between the City of Cohoes and the Civil Service Employees Association Clerical Unit. Council President Biggs made a MOTION to approve Resolution No. 39 for the year 2024. Seconded by Council Member Soloyna. All members voted “AYE.” The motion passed. Resolution No. 40 for the year 2024 A Resolution appointing a City Clerk Council Member Higgins made a MOTION to approve Resolution No. 40 for the year 2024. Seconded by Council Member Izzo. All members voted “AYE.” The motion passed. Resolution No. 41 for the year 2024 A Resolution awarding a contract to Amstar of Western New York, Inc for the Rehabilitation of three water storage tanks Council Member Soloyna made a MOTION to approve Resolution No. 41 for the year 2024. Seconded by Council Member Izzo. All members voted “AYE.” The motion passed. At 7:36 PM Council President Biggs made a MOTION to adjourn. Council Member Higgins seconded the motion.
