MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE BOARD OF ETHICS OF THE CITY OF COHOES HELD ON MONDAY, JANUARY 10, 2022 IN THE COMMON COUNCIL CHAMBERS OF CITY HALL Members Present: Charles Valenti, Chairperson Deborah Gilchrist, Member David Emanatian, Member Member Excused: Erin Roditis, Alternate Member Also Present: Complainant for Complaint No. 21-1 The meeting was called to order at 6:39 p.m. Items Considered: 1. The minutes of the November 29, 2021 meeting of the Board were approved unanimously. 2. Complaint No. 21-1-The Board agreed unanimously to go into executive session to discuss matters which my lead to the demotion, discipline, suspension, dismissal, or removal of a particular person at 6:41 p.m. The Board unanimously agreed to exit executive session at 6:53 p.m. 3. Deborah Gilchrist and David Emanatian motioned to table Complaint No. 21-1 to give the Subject of the Complaint the opportunity to discuss the matter with the Board. Chairperson Charles Valenti voted against it. Thus the motion was passed by a majority vote. 4. Charles Valenti was elected to the Office of Chairperson for a term of one year by a unanimous vote. Deborah Gilchrist was elected to act on behalf of the Chairperson in his absence for a term of one year by a unanimous vote. 5. The 2021 Annual Report of the Board of Ethics was approved by a unanimous vote. The date of the next meeting of the Board will be determined at a later date. The meeting was adjourned at 7:03 p.m.
