Call to Order
Ms. Bernache called the meeting to order at 7:40 p.m.
Old Business
Approval of the September and October Meeting Minutes
The Committee reviewed the meeting minutes from the September 18, 2023, and the October 16,
2023, meetings.
Ms. Bernache motioned to approve the minutes as presented. Second by Ms. Aikara. All
members in favor; no opposed. Motion carries, 5-0-0.
School Supply Request
Cherokee Lane has a request for school supplies and the EAC normally provides school supplies
in February. There is money in the budget to provide the school supplies to Cherokee Lane.
Mr. Warfield motioned to provide school supplies to Cherokee Lane. Second by Ms.
Aikara. All members in favor; no opposed. Motion carries 5-0-0.
Update on The Every Child Project (TECP)
Ms. Barber contacted the TECP for an update but has not received a response. The Committee
briefly discussed waiting to hear back from TECP or possibly approaching another tutoring
group.
Update on City Wide tutoring programs
30 students have signed up as being interested in participating in the program. The contract is not
finalized and is still under negotiations between the City and the company.
Review application form for PTO/PTA engagement
Ms. Simmons will contact the school representatives to inform them of the PTO/PTA funding
that is available and will provide the schools the link for the PTO/PTA application form.
New Business
2023 – 2024 EAC Grant Applications
College Park Academy - $2,250 for CPA Business Signature Program
Mr. Warfield motioned to approve College Park Academy’s grant application. Second by
Ms. Aikara. 4 members in favor, 0 opposed, 1 abstain. Motion carries, 4-0-1.
Greenbelt Middle and College Park Academy submitted their grant results report.
Children’s Event Calendar
Tabled until the January meeting.

Ms. Bernache adjourned the meeting at 8:05 p.m.
