Call to Order Mr. Bradford called the meeting to order at 6:39 p.m. II. Review and Approval of Agenda Ms. Araghi motioned to approve the agenda with a date correction. Mr. Grims seconded the motion. All were in favor. The motion passed 6-0-0. III. Review of Field Use Rules and Use of New Kitchen Facilities -Co-chairs invited to September 5, 2017 Council Worksession  Rules previously adopted by Mayor and Council in 2012. Rules are not inclusive of guidelines for use of kitchen at Duvall Field. The Board discussed options to review and revise the rules including: o Forming a sub-committee –Mrs. Pianowski will generate a list of potential rules o Creating a collaborative document - Ms. Fletcher will provide the board with an electronic copy of the document for group edits o Additional time to review- Requesting more time to see the facility and establish rules; Mr. Ryan will inquire if the matter can be postponed for the second Council work session in September. o Touring the site- Mr. Ryan will establish a site visit for Board members to see the kitchen. The board will poll to determine two dates for site visits. The Board discussed touring the kitchen on September 11th before the next scheduled meeting. IV. Review and Approval of July 10, 2017 Minutes Ms. Araghi motioned to approve the July 10th minutes with corrections. Mr. Grims seconded the motion. All were in favor. The motion passed 6-0-0. 1  V. Treasurer’s Report - July 2017 Mr. Bradford provided the July 2017 bank statement for Board members to review. Ms. Araghi motioned to approve the Treasurer’s Report. Ms. McCloud seconded the motion. All were in favor. The motion passed 6-0-0. VI. Field Use Request A. Prince George’s Pride Lacrosse – 08/12 – 11/05/17 Duvall Field Sundays 11:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m.  The original request for use from 9:00 a.m. - 9:00 p.m. has been modified to reflect a narrower time frame as requested by the Board.  Sundays are generally open days for public field use. The field is not heavily utilized by the residents on Sundays. PG County schedules Sunday games after determining field availability throughout the County. Mr. Grims motioned to recommend that Mayor and Council approve use of the field by PG Pride Lacrosse. Ms. McCloud seconded the motion. All were in favor. The motion passed 6-0-0. B. Fuentes Soccer Academy (FSA) - 07/17 – 11/17 Duvall Field M & W 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.  The Board offered modified use of Field B/#1 during the July 10th meeting. The Board discussed: o FSA Preference for lighted field in response to modified offer o Possible options for occasional use of Duvall outfield (Field A) when not in use by the College Park Boys and Girls Club (CPBGC) o Potential conflicts of sharing the field with the (CPBGC). Teams use the field on a regular basis and maintain key access lights and the clubhouse. o Addressing forfeiture of field use in the updated Field Use Rules. Groups who fail to arrive within 1 hour of their requested time forfeit field use for that day. o Creating an online tracking calendar for Field Use Requests for the use of the Board and for Public Information. Ms. Fletcher will inquire about options to work with the current public calendar. Mr. Grims made a motion to deny the request for the Fuentes Soccer Academy’s occasional use of Duvall Field A. The field is not available as a result of a previously approved reservation and the priority given to the College Park Boys and Girls Club. The Board will defer to the Fuentes Soccer Academy regarding the use of Field B. Mr. Toledo seconded the motion. All were in favor. The motion passed 8-0-0. C. Maryland Stingers Women’s Rugby -08/15-10/31/17 Duvall Field Tu & Th 7:30 p.m. until 9:30 p.m. The Board discussed: o Pride Lacrosse & Stingers Rugby teams have shared the field with CP Boys and Girls Club for the past 5 to 6 years; the city assesses fees accordingly. Mr. Grims motioned to approve Maryland Stingers Women’s Rugby team shared use the PG Pride Lacrosse team. Mr. Toledo seconded the motioned. All were in favor. The motion passed 6-0-0. VII. Recent Events A. Movie Night – 07/21/2017 -Hollywood Park The event was successful and well received by the community with approximately 60 people in attendance. The Board received requests to host an additional movie night before the end of the year. Ms. Fletcher has submitted equipment requests in Community Connections. The Board discussed: o Movie advertising guidelines & restrictions 2  o Green options for concessions Mr. Grims motioned to host an additional Movie Night at Hollywood Park. Mr. Toledo seconded the motioned. All were in favor. The motion passed 6-0-0. VIII. Future Events A. Back to School Back Pack Bash 08/26/17 at CPCC 10:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m. o Event includes: free food, DJ and school supplies giveaways B. 10th Annual Blues Festival - 11/04/17 at Ritchie Coliseum The Board discussed: o Sponsorship for drapes and installation o Moose Lodge Event -October 29th (tentative date) CP Blues Festival: Blue Crab Feast & related advertising o The Testudo from Terrapin Trader potentially contradicts the University of Maryland’s current branding. The inflatable Testudo from Terrapin Trader will not be used during the 10th Annual Blues Festival. o Advertising at the College Park Airport o Bands have been confirmed Lionel Young & Bad Influence IX. New Business A. Seniors Labor Day Event o No events are currently scheduled X. Next Meeting: September 11, 2017 (first Monday in September is a City Holiday) XI.
