Approval of March Meeting Minutes: The minutes of the March 28, 2018 meeting were reviewed and minor edits were made. Motion: Adopt March meeting minutes with changes. Moved: Dr. Lea-Cox Second: Ms. Oppelt Aye: Unanimous Nay: 0 Abstain: 0 2. Public Works Department Report: Ms. Alexander shared the following highlights: • 30 replacement street trees for Spring planting were ordered to be planted throughout the City. • Arbor Day is April 25th at Paint Branch Elementary School, starting at 1pm. • There are two more clean-up Saturdays that Public works is open for drop off. Compost and mulch are also available for sale. • Currently reviewing tree canopy proposals that have been received. • The Environmental Science and Policy Program Capstone project with the University of Maryland on food waste diversion program is scheduled for beginning of May. • The landscape crew is out and about performing Spring clean-up of landscape beds. 3. Planning Report: Mr. Beavers shared the following highlights: • Good Neighbor Day was cancelled due to the weather • Hollywood community garden clean-up is on April 20th at 6pm. • Plots will be started for the College Park Woods community garden. • Bike to Work Day is May 18th. 1 4. CBE Report: Ms. Oppelt shared the following highlights: • Rain barrel event postponed until July. • Plant identification signs were installed for the permaculture garden. 5. Old Business a. Vegetation Control Ordinance Mr. Ryan joined the meeting to have the Board review the revised draft of the Vegetation Control Ordinance. The Board reviewed the document and suggested re-wording. Mr. Ryan will re-write the draft and provide the revision to the Board for review. 6. New Business • Annual report will be due soon. 7. Adjournment/Next Meeting Dr. Lea-Cox motioned to adjourn the meeting. Second by Mr. Krouse. The meeting adjourned at 8:10 p.m. The next scheduled meeting is on May 16, 2018 at 7:00 p.m. 2
