Minutes of the Tree and Landscape Board City of College Park Virtual Meeting December 19, 2022 7:00PM Term Exp. Approval of Meeting Agenda: The Board reviewed the meeting agenda, and the date was updated to December 19, 2022, as well as the Zoom link. Motion: Approve the December 19, 2022, agenda as amended. Moved: Mr. Reitzel Second: Mr. Horowitz Aye: Unanimous Nay: 0 Abstain: 0 2. Approval of November Meeting Minutes: The Board reviewed the meeting minutes of the November 16, 2022, meeting and edits were made to the minutes. Motion: Accept the November meeting minutes as amended. Moved: Ms. Friend Second: Mr. Horowitz Aye: Unanimous Nay: 0 Abstain: 0 3. Public Works Department Report: Ms. Alexander and Mr. Wigglesworth shared the following highlights:  The landscape crew is working on leaf removal and street tree pruning. There is a vacancy on the landscape crew and the position will be advertised.  Working on incoming tree removal and pruning permits. From June 23 to October 26, there have been 29 permits issued. From October 27 to December 14, 24 permit applications were received; 19 permit applications were issued, and 5 applications were denied.   Contract tree work for street tree removals and street tree pruning was awarded to Excel Tree Expert. The contracted work will be for 9 tree removals, 64 trees pruned, and 9 stumps grounded.  Scheduled meetings with two potential contract tree planting companies for planting trees on private property. 4. CBE Report: Mr. Lynde shared the following highlights:  Continuing to work on the plastic bag ban and was introduced to the City Council in November.  Continuing to work on labeling native trees along the Trolley Trail.  Storm water drain painting is ongoing and medallion placements were scheduled as a Good Neighbor Day project but was cancelled due to the rain.  Ongoing discussions regarding developing a climate action plan for the City.  A letter to City Council was drafted regarding the planned development in Cherry Hill/Autoville area. 5. Old Business a. Annual Report The Board reviewed the draft annual report and additional edits were made to the report. The Board will review and finalize the report by December 31st. Ms. O’Brien asked for a motion to approve tonight’s work on the annual report. Motion was moved by Mr. Reitzel. Second by Ms. Friend. All members in favor, no opposed. Motion carries, 5-0-0. 6. Next Meeting Date The next meeting is scheduled on January 18, 2022, at 7:00 p.m. 7. Adjourn Ms. Friend motioned to adjourn the meeting. Second by Mr. Horowitz. All members in favor, no opposed. Motion carries, 5-0-0. The meeting adjourned at 9:04 p.m.
