Call To Order/Roll Call Present: Jennie Loveridge, Angela Ramirez, Abe Ramirez, Jacqueline Gonzalez, Jacob Wilson, Ed Hanson, Samantha Hunt, Kristi Douglas, Lucy Molina, Councilman Guardiola. Absent: Debra Bullock, Kristin Henning, Councilman Hurst. 2. Welcome/Guest and New Member Introductions Members went around and did introductions. 3. Regular Business October financial report was presented. Members reviewed the 2020 proposed budget. Wilson motioned to accept with the edit to increase the Memorial Day Parade budget from $250 to $1,000. Douglas seconded the motion. Motion was passed unanimously. Outside hours was completed. Approval of Minutes Minutes 10/08/2019 Attachments: Minutes Wilson motioned to approve. Councilman Guardiola seconded. Motion was approved. 4. Committee Reports and Discussion Members reviewed the committee summary and committee chair information from the annual planning meeting. Winter student art show: members will help setup November 15 at 10 a.m. Staff will send out student artwork electronically for judging. Rotating Art Exhibit: reception hosted in October was a success. For the upcoming exhibit, members agreed to host the reception at Eagle Pointe. Members also asked that promotional content be advertised in television screens at all city locations. Commerce City Page 1 Cultural Council Meeting Minutes November 12, 2019 RTD public art: public art to go into the new lightrail RTD station at 72nd and Colorado. RTD has set $40,000 for this project. Hunt will be the Cultural Council member for the art committee. Art wraps of Cultural Council choice of theme will also be installed. Members agreed they would like to do a call for proposed artwork of transit/railroad artwork. New events: Adult Art Show & Commerce City arts and crafts fair. Members agreed to wait for the board chair to have a discussion on project timeline. Music in the Park Committee: A.Ramirez asked staff to forward band list to begin process of selection in the new year. Fundraising/Grants: QCF grant reporting and 2020 application to be made available in December. The SCFD grant report is live and due in February. Outreach/events: swag products to be voted on in December. Planning Committee: By Laws approval will be postponed since final copy has not been provided to all members. Colorado Non-profit Association report back from Hanson. Social Media/Marketing/Publicity: Hunt provided a report back to the members. Members asked if it would be possible to have a workshop on social media. 5. New Business Treasurer elections: new member Gonzalez has accepted to be the new treasurer. Member voted unanimously in favor of her appointment. 6. Member Comments/Announcements A.Ramirez with the help of his daughter added graphics to the Cultural Council banner. He asked if the board would be okay with giving his daughter a small donation for the time spent. Hanson motioned to provide a $50 donation. Hunt seconded. Motion was passed unanimously. 7.
