Call To Order/Roll Call Meeting called to order at 6:12 p.m. Present: Jose Guardiola, Samantha Hunt-Duran, Craig Hurst, Jackie Riggs-Gonzales, Abe Ramirez, Johni Grabinski, Ronna Sanchez, Lucy Molina, Angela Ramirez 2. Approval of Minutes Minutes 03/10/2020 Attachments: Minutes Board member Sanchez was present during the March meeting asked to change her absence. Motion to approve minutes by Hunt-Duran. Seconded motion by Sanchez. 3. Financial Report No new updates. 4. Committee Reports and Discussion Public Art Shows • Ramirez hasn’t emailed Anythink library, waiting to see what is happening, tentative plans were for Sept. 2020, hoping that things may be open then, might email library and express our interest in doing an adult art show at some point RTD Public Art • Ramirez hasn’t heard back from RTD about art wraps. • Staff reported that we haven’t made public announcement for the art selection for roundabout—RTD has ownership with maintenance responsibilities, and this ownership is getting transferred to City. The presentation will go to our Council in June, then it will go to City Council QCF Funding • QCF resources were scarce this year. We were awarded $2,000 this year, application was for $7,500, got $3,000 this year. We need to decide what to do with this funding, maybe 3 MiTP 2021. • Ramirez is asking that anyone look out for funding resources o Councilmembers recommend going through Commerce City for funding for Commerce City Page 1 Cultural Council Meeting Minutes May 12, 2020 non-profits. First round has been awarded $71,000 total. Most organizations got something. Second round call is going out at the end of May • Councilmembers will email Sanchez when it opens, and Sanchez will do the application. Music in the Park • MiTP has been cancelled for summer 2020 • There was a suggestion that we should pay the bands. Ramirez suggests that bands do 45-minute to 1-hour concert to be live streamed onto social media and channel 8. Councilman Guardiola suggests that we keep the dates. 5. New Business By-laws approval Ramirez motioned to postponed for annual retreat in October. Hunt-Duran will resend google doc link. Councilman Guardiola seconds to postpone. Motion passed 6.
