Call To Order/Roll Call Meeting called to order at 6:03 p.m. Present: Councilman Jose Guardiola, Abraham Ramirez, Angela Ramirez, Samantha Hunt-Duran, Jacqueline Riggs-Gonzales, Johni Grabinski Absent: Ronna Sanchez, Councilman Craig Hurst, Sandra Escobar 2. Approval of Minutes Attachments: Meeting Minutes March 9, 2021 Motion to approve meeting minutes by member Hunt. Seconded by member Ramirez. Minutes were approved. 3. Regular Business Items Financial Update Member Riggs-Gonzales gave an update on the March financials to date. Complete Outside Hours Members were reminded to keep track of their volunteer hours. 4. New Business -Microsoft Office 365 training, Teri Sirens The city is currently going through a transition to Microsoft Office 365 in lieu of using Google platforms. IT specialist Teri Sirens provided a brief overview and training to board members. -Music in the Park Member Ramirez has been working on finalizing concert locations and bands. Member Riggs agreed to help confirm our sound and production company. Member Hunt will help creating Facebook events on the board's social media. Staff will be working to finalize the event flyer. Member Ramirez also proposed that new event banners be created. Members supported the idea. 5. Committee Updates and Discussion -Outreach and Events Commerce City Page 1 Cultural Council Meeting Minutes April 13, 2021 No new updates -Art Shows The Virtual art exhibition received on new submission from a photography class at the recreation centers. Members will review and provide any feedback. Staff asked the art exhibition committee to create a timeline and plan moving forward with the current and future exhibitions at the recreation centers. Councilman Guardiola motioned that our next theme for our exhibitions at the recreation centers be "life during quarantine/lockdown." This can be photography, art, written poetry, etc. Member Ramirez seconded. Motion was approved. -Fundraising and Grants SCFD grant application has been submitted. QCF grant award notice has been received. The Cultural Council has received $4,000 for Music in the Park for 2021. -Social Media/Marketing No new updates. -Commerce City Eats Committee will be meeting soon. Staff asked members to bring back 2-3 proposed ideas for this year's CC Eats event. Potential inspiration other city events; Denver Restaurant Week, "Town Bucks" -Theater/Dance Member Ramirez brought to the group the effort to push forward a "Dance Showcase" event. Proposed timeline would be the last week of September, first week of October. Councilman Guardiola will reach out to Adams 14 for a potential partnership and to use their auditorium. 6. Member Comments/Announcements Member Ramirez shared that her artwork will be showcased in several community events. Information will be forwarded to members. New members will be appointed to the Cultural Council board by City Council on April 19. 7.. Adjourn Meeting was adjourned at 7:31 p.m. Commerce City Page 2
