Call To Order/Roll Call Meeting called to order at 6:04 p.m. Attendees: Dana Bond, Steve Douglas, Aaron Franek, Brent Loomis, Justin Maillet, Bret Walker Absent: Jadie Carson, Bruce Emery Staff Members Present: Carolyn Keith, Amy Hendricks Guest: Maria D'Andrea 2. Approval of Minutes A motion was made by Member Loomis to approve the December 13, 2016 minutes as submitted. The motion was seconded by Member Franek. The minutes were approved unanimously. This was approved 3. Unfinished Business 16-57 New & existing recreation centers (Facility Naming process and timeline) Attachments: PRESENTATION 10-18-16 The facility naming contest is up and running. Members asked staff to ensure that an entry box has been placed at Buffalo Run Golf Course. Members discussed having restaurant staff promote the contest to solicit entries. This Administrative Business was continued 16-68 PRG Community Outreach Role Overview Attachments: REC CENTER NAMING CONTEST WORK PLAN Director Keith asked members to review the updated Communications Plan and to send her any comments/questions. The top facility name submissions will go before City Council for consideration/selection. This Administrative Business was continued 17-33 2017 PRG Advisory Committee Meeting Schedule Commerce City Page 1 Parks, Recreation, and Golf Meeting Minutes - Final January 17, 2017 Advisory Committee The 2017 meeting schedule was reviewed and discussed. Director Keith will check on availability of other PRG locations for meetings and will finalize at the February 21 meeting. There are joint PRG Advisory/CIP-CAC meetings scheduled on March 8 and May 10. These two meetings are in addition to the monthly PRG Advisory Committee meetings. A motion was made by Member Bond to move the November 21st meeting to November 14th. Co-Chair Maillet seconded the motion. The motion was approved unanimously. This Administrative Business was continued 4 New Business 17-31 Committee Membership Update Director Keith announced that Member LaCrue has resigned from the Committee due to other commitments. There are currently five (5) vacancies and she will reach out to the Communications Division to get the word out. Current members desire representation from the southern part of the City, however membership is not reserved by ward but are filled at-large. This Administrative Business was continued 17-19 Update/feedback existing Recreation Center Changes Attachments: NEW REC CENTER AND INFRASTRUCTURE UPDATE Director of Public Works, Maria D'Andrea presented a slideshow overview and gave progress updates on the new and existing recreation centers. (presentation attached) This Administrative Business was continued 17-32 Tower Road & Highway 2 Update Attachments: TOWER ROAD PROJECT UPDATE HWY 2 PROJECT UPDATE Director D'Andrea presented a slideshow overview and gave updates on the Tower Road Widening Project and the Highway 2 Project. (presentation attached) Director D'Andrea also provided updates on future residential development sites, the Tower/Pena project, the pedestrian crossing at 117th and Chambers, and the I-76 and US 85 construction project. This Administrative Business was continued 5 Committee Member Reports and Information Committee Members shared general information and updates in addition to reporting on their attendance at various events.
