Call To Order/Roll Call Meeting called to order at 6:01 p.m. Attendees: Dana Bond, Brendan Binns, Jadie Carson, Steve Douglas, Bruce Emery, Aaron Franek, Brent Loomis, Justin Maillet, Bret Walker, Jacob Wilson Staff Members Present: Karen O'Donnell, Jodi Hardee, Candice Turnage 2. Approval of Minutes A motion was made by Member Emery, seconded by Member Loomis to approve the March 21, 2017 minutes as submitted. VOTE: Unanimous The motion passed. 3. Unfinished Business 16-57 New & existing recreation centers (Facility Naming process and timeline) Attachments: ORIGINAL PRESENTATION 10-18-16 YOUR HUB ARTICLE - NAMING CONTEST Let the record show that Member Carson arrived to the meeting at 6:09 p.m. Communications Specialist, Jodi Hardee, reviewed the Facility Naming Presentation (originally presented October 18, 2016). The committee agreed to include 3 name submissions received after the deadline in the selection process. The committee was broken into 2 smaller groups to determine their top selections in each category. The committee reconvened and agreed to remove the category of "in honor of" and shared their top name selections. The committee discussed themes and shared their perspectives. Let the record show that Member Douglas arrived to the meeting at 7:14 p.m. The committee selected their top choices to further refine the list, and continued this process until consensus achieved of theme and recommended the following: A motion was made by Member Emery, seconded by Member Wilson, to recommend Bison Ridge Recreation Center for the new recreation center and Antelope Parkway Recreation Center for the existing recreation center. A motion was made by Member Franek, seconded by Co-Chair Maillet, to recommend alternate names Trailblazers Recreation Center for the new recreation center and Pioneer Recreation Center for the existing recreation center. VOTE: Aye: 4- Member Bond, Member Carson, Member Franek, Co-Chair Maillet Nay: 6- Member Binns, Member Douglas, Member Emery, Member Loomis, Co-Chair Walker, Member Wilson The motion did not pass. This Administrative Business was continued 4. New Business 17-44 New & existing recreation centers name recommendation to City Council Co-Chairs Maillet and Walker will present the name recommendation to City Council at the May 22, 2017 Study Session. This Administrative Business was continued 5. Committee Member Reports and Information Members shared general information and updates. Members requested a tour of the new recreation center. Staff will look into scheduling a tour. 6.
