Call To Order/Roll Call Meeting called to order at 6:05 p.m. Attendees: Steve Douglas, Bruce Emery, Aaron Franek, Brent Loomis, Bret Walker, Jacob Wilson Staff Members Present: Carolyn Keith, Karen O'Donnell, Chad Redin, Amy Hendricks 2. Approval of Minutes A motion was made by Member Emery, seconded by Member Loomis, to approve the April 18, 2017 minutes as submitted. VOTE: Unanimous. The motion passed. 3. Unfinished Business Let the record show that Member Loomis arrived at the meeting at 6:25 p.m. 17-20 Recreation Center Facility Fees/Charges Attachments: PARKS RECREATION AND GOLF FEES Recreation Manager, Karen O'Donnell reviewed the types of memberships available and discussed the formulas used to calculate the proposed fees. Most members agree that fees need to be increased; however there was not consensus on which fees should be increased and by the amount of any such increase. Members suggested that Recreation Manager O'Donnell use 60%, as opposed to the recommended 50% discount in the fee calculations and to bring back the new proposed fee calculations to the group for discussion. There was consensus to raise the senior rate, but to allow existing members to be grandfathered in at the current rate as long as their memberships do not lapse. A motion was made by Member Loomis to increase the senior rates, seconded by Member Douglas. VOTE: Unanimous The motion passed. A motion was made by Member Loomis to have staff calculate the new formula and present the updated proposed fees to the group for further discussion, seconded by Member Emery. Director Keith proposed having staff from the City's Finance Department make a presentation to the PRG Advisory Committee before making any fee recommendations. A motion was made by Member Wilson to invite Finance staff to present information on the City's budget at the June 2017 meeting, seconded by Member Franek. VOTE: Unanimous. The motion passed. This Administrative Business was continued 16-57 New & existing recreation centers (Facility Naming process) Attachments: ORIGINAL PRESENTATION 10-18-16 YOUR HUB ARTICLE - NAMING CONTEST The group was in agreement and supports the Bison Ridge name for the new recreation center. Co-chair Walker will let City Council know that there are concerns from the committee with the Antelope Parkway name suggested for the existing recreation center when the presentation is made at the study session on May 22, 2017. This Administrative Business was continued 4. New Business 17-52 New Recreation Center Tour The site tour of the new recreation center will take place during the July meeting and the meeting will be held at Buffalo Run Golf Course. This Administrative Business was continued 17-55 Date for an Overview of the Existing Recreation Center Project To be discussed at the July meeting. This Administrative Business was continued 5. Committee Member Reports and Information Members shared general information and updates. 6. PRG Announcements Distributed to all members via email on May 12, 2017, and available on www.c3gov.com. Committee members are encouraged to attend and can also volunteer at the Neighborhood Outreach on June 8 at Fronterra Park.
