Call To Order/Roll Call Meeting called to order at 6:02 p.m. Attendees: Dana Bond, Brendan Binns, Bruce Emery, Aaron Franek, Justin Maillet, Bret Walker, Jacob Wilson Staff Members Present: Roger Tinklenberg, Armando Guardiola, Carolyn Keith, Karen O'Donnell, Amy Hendricks 2. Approval of Minutes A motion was made by Co-chair Maillet, seconded by Member Emery, to approve the May 16, 2017 minutes as submitted. VOTE: Unanimous. The motion passed. A motion was made by Co-chair Maillet, seconded by Member Franek, to amend the meeting agenda and move immediately to New Business to hear a presentation on the City budget. VOTE: Unanimous. The motion passed. 3. Unfinished Business 17-20 Recreation Center Facility Fees/Charges Attachments: PARKS RECREATION AND GOLF FEES City Council was supportive of the annual pass, universal pass, and raising senior rates and grandfathering in current memberships for seniors as long as their current membership does not lapse. Staff will report back to the committee in August 2017. This Administrative Business was continued 16-57 New & Existing Recreation Centers (Facility Naming process) Attachments: ORIGINAL PRESENTATION 10-18-16 YOUR HUB ARTICLE - NAMING CONTEST The committee's naming recommendations were presented to City Council on June 12, 2017. City Council showed interest in the proposed name for the new recreation center (Bison Ridge). However, Council asked the committee submit a different name for the existing recreation center. City Council's desire is for the renaming of the existing center to be representative of the facility. Director Keith suggested using signage to link the centers together. The committee agreed to review the names previously submitted and email 2-4 Commerce City Page 1 Parks, Recreation, and Golf Meeting Minutes - Final June 20, 2017 Advisory Committee alternative facility naming recommendations to expedite the upcoming discussion. The top names will be collected and a Survey Monkey will be sent to committee members to select. A motion was made by Member Binns, seconded by Member Bond, to set aside a half hour after the tour for the July 18 meeting to discuss naming of the existing recreation center. Vote: Unanimous. The motion passed. A motion was made by Member Franek, seconded by Member Binns, to open up naming suggestions outside of the names submitted in the naming contest. Vote: Unanimous. The motion passed. This Administrative Business was continued 4. New Business 17-56 City Budget Presentation Attachments: 2017 COMMERCE CITY BUDGET AT-A-GLANCE 2015 COMMERCE CITY POPULAR ANNUAL FINANCIAL REPORT 2016 RECREATION - REVENUES AND EXPENSES ADAMS COUNTY TAX DISTRICT REPORT Controller Armando Guardiola gave an overview of the City budget (see handout). Let the record show that Member Bond joined the meeting at 6:29 p.m. Deputy City Manager Roger Tinklenberg discussed the 2K bonding issues with the Committee. The Adams County Tax District Report was distributed to members (see handout). Director Carolyn Keith reviewed the 2016 Recreation Revenues and Expenses information (see handout). This Administrative Business was continued 17-52 New Recreation Center Tour July 18 New Recreation Center site tour - meet at Buffalo Run. This Administrative Business was continued 5. Committee Member Reports and Information Members shared general information and updates. Future agenda item: the committee has interest in talking about Golf programming. 6. PRG Announcements Distributed to all members via email on June 16, 2017, and available on www.c3gov.com.
