Call To Order/Roll Call/Pledge of Allegiance Meeting called to order at 6:06 p.m. Attendees: Brendan Binns, Brent Loomis, Justin Maillet, Jacob Wilson Absent: Dana Bond, Steve Douglas, Crystal Elliott, Bruce Emery, Bret Walker Staff present: Carolyn Keith, Karen O'Donnell, Amy Hendricks 2. Approval of Minutes No quorum; action to be taken at the May meeting. This was continued 3. Unfinished Business 18-09 2018 Meeting Topic Discussion Recreation Manager, Karen O’Donnell distributed the meeting topic survey results. The top four topics will be put on the 2018 agenda. The organizational charts have been updated and will be distributed to members. There will be an overview of the organizational charts at the next meeting. This Administrative Business was continued 18-25 Bison Ridge Grand Opening Event Discussion PRG Advisory Committee members will receive an invitation to the VIP Experience, held on May 17, 2018 from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Members and their families will be able to use the facility this evening. A VIP Sneak Peek Tour is scheduled on May 23, 2018 at 6:30 p.m. This event is a “tour only.” The Grand Opening is scheduled for May 25, 2018. The dedication ceremony is at 5:30 p.m., and the facility will open to the public at 6:00 p.m. Refreshments will be available the evening of the event. New Business Commerce City Page 1 Parks, Recreation, and Golf Meeting Minutes - Final April 17, 2018 Advisory Committee 18-36 Recreation Facility Programming/Hours of Operations Survey Recreation Manager, O’Donnell distributed the draft survey and discussed the programs that will be offered in the fall of 2018. Members provided feedback on the proposed survey questions, which will be incorporated into the survey. The survey will be available on the PRG website and will be available to take at the grand opening via iPads. The survey is also linked to the program guide as a method to reach more people. This Administrative Business was continued 18-37 School District 27J 4-Day School Week Recreation Manager, O’Donnell shared that staff has been in communication with School District 27J regarding the 4-day school week beginning in the fall of 2018. The feedback SD27J provided is that there is no need for Commerce City to assist with K-5th grade programs. However, SD27J does not have any programs/activities in place for middle school or high school students. If Commerce City offered programming for middle and high school age students, we would need to rent their bus service to provide transportation. There is currently space in programs for up to 80 kids. Recreation Manager, O’Donnell also discussed opportunities with the City of Brighton to help accommodate the schedule change. This Administrative Business was continued 5. Committee Member Reports & Information Members shared general information and updates. The Annual Pancake Breakfast will be held at the Eagle Pointe Recreation Center on May 5, 2018, to raise money for the Active Adult Scholarship Program. The May 15, 2018, PRG Advisory Committee meeting will be held at Bison Ridge, as well as the remaining meetings in 2018. 6.
