Call To Order/Roll Call/Pledge of Allegiance - 6:00 PM Meeting was called to order at 6:02 pm by Co-Chair Walker. Members Present: Clark Berggren, DeLilah Collins, Jose Guardiola, Josh Houde, Craig Hurst, Shawn McDowell, Kendall Ryerson, Michael Stegman, Bret Walker, Paul Welander Absent: Alejandro Garcia, Katie Southard PRG Staff present: Chad Redin, Paul Hebinck, Maria Jepson, Justin Layden, Elizabeth Belton Guest: Terrance Coon, Commerce City resident, Mary Chan, Commerce City resident Introductions for new member - Staff and Committee members introduced themselves to new member Michael Stegman 2. Approval of Minutes A motion was made by Member Collins seconded by Member Houde to approve the August 17, 2021 minutes as submitted. VOTE: Unanimous. The motion passed. 3. New Business 21-152 PRG Cost Recovery Presentation - Justin Layden Attachments: Cost Recovery Presentation Recreation Supervisor Layden reviewed the Cost Recovery Presentation that included education, methodology, service categories, cost of service analysis and implementation of the policy. Recreation Manager Redin and Supervisor Layden answered questions related to the presentation. 21-153 Fitness Programs Presentation - Elizabeth Belton Attachments: Fitness Presentation Recreation Coordinator Belton reviewed the virtual fitness class options that were available during the pandemic. The goal has been to stay connected with community members through the various social media platforms. Staff is focused on community Commerce City Page 1 Parks, Recreation, and Golf Meeting Minutes - Final October 19, 2021 Advisory Committee building, Eagle Pointe programming, in person/virtual fitness options, outreach and looking ahead at ways to promote fitness classes. 4. Unfinished Business 21-121 Selection of New Co-Chair A motion was made by Member Collins seconded by Member McDowell to appoint Josh Houde to fill the open Co-Chair position. VOTE: Unanimous. The motion passed. 5. Council Member Reports & Information Councilman Guardiola commended staff for the work done on the Fall Fest Event. 6. Committee Member Reports & Information Golf Manager Hebinck advised that all Men’s Club events and Nine & Dine Golf Diva’s events are wrapped up for the season. With the nice Fall weather there has been steady participation at the golf course. Recreation Manager Redin provided an update on PRG Events: • Fall Fest was a huge success with 900-1000 people at the event. • The Halloween Scavenger Hunt had approximately 200 teams participate over the past few weeks in the parks. • The Run with the Buffalo 2K Event will be November 20 and should be a fun event. Eventually this event will coincide in a partnership with the National Wildlife Refuge as a 5K race in 2023. • Cereal with Santa Event is December 11 and registration is open. • Staff are wrapping up the Winter/Spring Brochure, with registration starting December 7. 7. PRG Announcements Distributed to all members via email on October 15, 2021. 8.
