Call To Order/Roll Call/Pledge of Allegiance - 6:00 PM Meeting was called to order at 6:02 pm by Co-Chair Walker. Members Present: Clark Berggren, DeLilah Collins, Alejandro Garcia, Jose Guardiola, Josh Houde, Craig Hurst, Shawn McDowell, Kaitlin Nares, Chris Niyork, Kendall Ryerson, Michael Stegman, Bret Walker Absent: Katie Southard PRG Staff present: Carolyn Keith, Chad Redin, Paul Hebinck, Maria Jepson, Lisa Nordholt, Marty Walsh Guest: Terrance Coon, Commerce City resident, Paul Welander, Commerce City resident. 2. New Member Introductions New members introduced themselves to the committee. 3. Approval of Minutes A motion was made by Member Ryerson seconded by Member Berggren to approve the October 19, 2021 minutes as submitted. VOTE: Unanimous. The motion passed. 4. New Business 21-174 Recreation & Golf - New Programs Presentation/Update Attachments: Recreation and Golf Programs Presentation Recreation Superintendent, Marty Walsh reviewed Recreation and Golf programs, highlighting early childhood, youth, athletic, dance/gymnastics, fitness, aquatic, adult, adaptive/inclusion, golf programs and special events. Recreation Manager Redin answered questions related to updating bilingual options on the PRG social media accounts. 21-175 Park Ranger Update Attachments: Park Ranger Update Commerce City Page 1 Parks, Recreation, and Golf Meeting Minutes - Final November 16, 2021 Advisory Committee Recreation Supervisor, Lisa Nordholt provided an update on the Park Ranger program, which includes a partnership with Adams County where two of their park rangers will be dedicated to Commerce City parks starting in 2022. The Community Navigator-Homeless Outreach Coordinator has been able to provide assistance to homeless individuals and coordinated mobile outreach clinics that provided shower/laundry/health services. Front Range Patrol is doing sweeps in multiple parks and reporting emergencies, with Monaco and Pioneer Parks having dedicated patrols. Starting in 2022, we will be establishing an internal Park Ranger program in Commerce City that collaborates with the existing rangers of Adams County. 5. Unfinished Business 21-176 December 21 Meeting - Should Meeting Be Cancelled A motion was made by Member Collins seconded by Member Stegman to cancel the December 21, 2021 meeting and resume again on January 18, 2022. VOTE: Unanimous. The motion passed. 6. Council Member Reports & Information Councilman Guardiola expressed his appreciation being able to serve on the PRG Advisory Committee and that this will be his last meeting. Members and staff thanked him for his dedication to the Committee and being an advocate for Parks, Recreation and Golf. 7. Committee Member Reports & Information • Kudos to staff at Bison Ridge for making it such a clean, safe facility and to golf staff for coordinating the new event Run with the Buffalo/Turkey Trot • Coat Drive in process with collection bins at both Recreation Centers • Project Present is underway and serving Commerce City families in need and names are still available 8.
