Call To Order/Roll Call/Pledge of Allegiance - 6:00 PM Meeting was called to order at 6:02 pm by Co-Chair Houde. Members Present: Clark Berggren, DeLilah Collins, Rick Davis, Alejandro Garcia, Josh Houde, Craig Hurst, Shawn McDowell, Chris Niyork, Michael Stegman, Bret Walker Absent: Kaitlin Nares, Katie Southard PRG Staff present: Chad Redin, Paul Hebinck, Carolyn Keith, Maria Jepson Guest: Terrance Coon - Commerce City resident Let the record show Member Garcia joined the meeting at 6:07 p.m. The staff and committee members reintroduced themselves and members shared the area they live in as well as the matters of interest to them or reason for their participation with the PRG Advisory Committee. 2. Approval of Minutes A motion was made by Member Stegman seconded by Member Davis to approve the February 15 and the March 15, 2022 minutes as submitted. VOTE: Unanimous. The motion passed. This was approved 3. New Business 22-73 Pledge of Allegiance at PRG Advisory Committee Meetings - Josh Houde Discussed that going forward the Pledge of Allegiance would take place at all in-person PRG Advisory Committee meetings but if being held in a virtual manner, the pledge would be foregone due to the electronic and Wi-Fi distortions that have been encountered previously. All were in agreement of this change. This Administrative Business was discussed and closed Commerce City Page 1 Parks, Recreation, and Golf Meeting Minutes - Final April 19, 2022 Advisory Committee 22-74 Buffalo Run Golf Course Overview - Paul Hebinck Attachments: Buffalo Run Golf Course Overview Golf Course Manager, Paul Hebinck, reviewed golf operations, programs and projects. Highlights included the PGA Hope program for Veteran’s, restaurant events, and Capital Improvement Projects such as the clubhouse renovation, irrigation system replacement, turf recovery, new irrigation well construction and future expansion design work. Challenges will be the disruption to programs starting around July 1st, but the benefit will be improved course conditions. This Administrative Business was discussed and closed 4. Unfinished Business 22-72 City Tour April 30 UPDATE - Carolyn Keith An informational booklet will be distributed to members with facts about the amenities on the City tour. After the tour, members are invited to tour the golf course. For members that can’t attend the April 30 tour, Director Keith will look at setting up another time to visit areas of the City. This Administrative Business was continued 22-59 Committee Co-chair Selection - Josh Houde Members discussed the open co-chair position and DeLilah Collins volunteered to fill the vacancy. A motion was made by Member Houde seconded by Member Walker to approve Member Collins as the newest PRG Advisory Committee co-chair. VOTE: Unanimous. The motion passed. This Administrative Business was continued 22-56 Survey Results - Carolyn Keith Director Keith discussed that Community Development is looking for feedback on the Comprehensive Plan Update Presentation via the online survey and through the in-person meeting at Eagle Pointe. Council Member Reports & Information Councilmember Hurst reminded the committee that the Memorial Day Parade is returning this year with a new post parade concert. Additionally, the Concert in the Parks series and 4th Fest is coming back and we’re looking forward to interacting with the community at these events. Councilmember Davis indicated there several projects and requests coming before Council related to parks and trails, shared his enjoyment/appreciation for the recent Comic-Con event at Bison Ridge and encouraged the ongoing efforts of embracing our traditions while exploring new possibilities. 6. Committee Member Reports & Information Members are invited to join the April 25 Council Meeting Study Session online or in person to for a brief overview of the PRG Advisory Committee, a presentation from Adams County on the South Platte River vision, the Buffalo Run Expansion, the Prairieways Action Plan overview and a Recreation Program and Event update. PRG held a staff retreat in March that entailed a Vision Mapping Process that will be shared with the committee in preparation for creating the vision for Commerce City. Co-Chair Collins, also a member of the Comprehensive Plan Committee, shared that there has been a lot of work to gather information and surveys will be put out to poll the community on what their vision looks like. Members are encouraged to take the survey and share with their C3 friends and neighbors to encourage others to the survey a well. Reminder May 7 is the annual Pancake Breakfast at Eagle Pointe 8-9:30am; sign up by May 3. 7. PRG Announcements Distributed to all members via email on April 13, 2022. 8.
