Call To Order/Roll Call/Pledge of Allegiance - 6:00 PM Meeting was called to order at 6:01 pm by Co-Chair Houde. Members Present: Clark Berggren, DeLilah Collins, Rick Davis, Alejandro Garcia, Josh Houde, Craig Hurst, Shawn McDowell, Kaitlin Nares, Chris Niyork Absent: Katie Southard, Michael Stegman, Bret Walker PRG Staff present: Chad Redin, Paul Hebinck, Carolyn Keith, Maria Jepson Guest: Terrance Coon - Commerce City resident and City Council Member Kristi Douglas. Let the record show Member Berggren joined the meeting at 6:09 p.m. Committee members introduced themselves to guest City Council Member, Kristi Douglas. 2. Approval of Minutes A motion was made by Member Davis seconded by Member Hurst to approve the April 19, 2022 minutes as submitted. VOTE: Unanimous. The motion passed. This was approved 3. Unfinished Business 22-72 City Tour April 30 UPDATE - Carolyn Keith Committee members shared positive feedback about the recent City tour. Director Keith will send out the tour location details to the committee and also indicated she would be available for a tour for those that were not able to attend on April 30. Council Member Hurst discussed the opportunities to connect trail systems related to the Comprehensive Plan. 4. New Business 22-87 PRG Vision Map - Chad Redin Recreation Manager Redin, reviewed the PRG Vision Map and Vision Mission Commerce City Page 1 Parks, Recreation, and Golf Meeting Minutes - Final May 17, 2022 Advisory Committee Statement created in 2014, and then shared the latest Vision Map and Statement developed in late March of this year. The PRG fulltime and key part-time staff participated in a workshop to develop the new theme, including goals, accomplishments and keys to our success. Recreation Manager Redin answered questions and explained the new Special Opportunities in Adaptive Recreation (SOAR) program and work being done with the National Inclusion Project. 22-88 2022 CIPP Update - Carolyn Keith Director Keith reviewed the CIP presentation for the committee, highlighting the 2020, 2021 and 2022 projects. Proposed preservation projects for 2023 were also included in the presentation. Director Keith answered questions and explained the benefits of replacing outdated irrigation systems with updated technology. Director Keith shared that City Council approved additional 2K projects that are related to PRG (Second Creek Farms Neighborhood Park, Monaco Park, Eagle Pointe Kitchen Remodel, shade structures along the Second Creek Corridor and the perimeter trail that runs along 96th, Hwy 2 and Quebec, and safety improvements to the 67th underpass that leads to Fairfax Park). In addition, there are two contingent projects that were approved: Fitness Stations at the Rocky Mountain Arsenal perimeter trail and Bison Ridge Park. City Council will be considering a re-appropriation to fund the Buffalo Run Clubhouse & Maintenance Facility expansion. 5. Council Member Reports & Information There will be opportunity for appropriate sidewalks in the design work at 120th Project. Parks, Recreation & Golf is a cornerstone of the Comprehensive Plan going forward. There is opportunity for growth related to Parks, Recreation & Golf. The Memorial Day Parade is coming up on the May 30th and there will be a concert for the first time after the parade. Cultural Council is working with the City to do the Concerts in the Parks events. 6. Committee Member Reports & Information Director Keith will email the committee information about volunteering at the Memorial Day Parade. The 2nd Annual Curt Holland Golf Tournament will be on August 26, 2022. 7. PRG Announcements Distributed to all members via email on April 13, 2022. 8.
