Call To Order/Roll Call/Pledge of Allegiance - 6:00 PM Meeting was called to order at 6:02 p.m. by Co-Chair Houde. Members Present: DeLilah Collins, Oz Flores, Josh Houde, Craig Hurst, Desiree Martinelli, Renee Millard Chacon, Kaitlin Nares, Chris Niyork, Michael Stegman, Paul Welander Absent: Alejandro Garcia, Shawn McDowell, Katie Southard Staff present: Carolyn Keith, Chad Redin, Paul Hebinck, Tim Duda and Maria Jepson Guest: Karl Zimmerman, City Resident Let the record show Member Stegman joined the meeting at 6:09 p.m., Member Flores joined at 6:10 p.m. and Member Hurst joined at 6:17 p.m. 2. Committee Member Update Update on new committee members – Paul Welander and Renée Millard-Chacon 3. Approval of Minutes A motion was made by Member Stegman seconded by Member Nares to approve the January 17, 2023, minutes as submitted. VOTE: Unanimous. The motion passed. 4. Unfinished Business 23-031 Quality Community Foundation Collaboration Opportunity Follow up (no attached documents/discussion only) - Laura Hellewell Update provided on the upcoming 80’s Prom Event on April 1st; registration is now open for couples 21+. Tables will be available for sponsors to purchase and there will be a silent auction with proceeds going to the Quality Community Foundation for general operational costs. QCF is looking for assistance in getting donation items for the silent auction, which will be assembled in gift baskets before the event. 5. New Business 23-032 2023 Budget Adoption - Carolyn Keith Commerce City Page 1 Parks, Recreation, and Golf Meeting Minutes - Final February 21, 2023 Advisory Committee Attachments: Presentation - PRG Advisory Committee Proposed Budget 2023 Director Keith reviewed the proposed 2023 budget items for the PRG Advisory Committee. A motion was made by Member Stegman seconded by Member Collins to approve the 2023 budget outline as drafted. VOTE: Unanimous. The motion passed. 23-033 PRG Master Plan Update (no attached documents/discussion only) - Carolyn Keith Director Keith provided an update on the Parks, Recreation & Golf Master Plan. The Request for Proposals has been posted and the closing date is April 17, 2023. Interested consultants will be able to ask questions and submit proposals. A committee will review the proposals and select a consultant. Depending on the amount of the contract, it may require City Council approval. The goal is to be ready to do outreach at upcoming events and programs. 23-034 Metro Football Stadium District (MFSD) Article 33 Sharing for Youth Activities - Carolyn Keith Attachments: Presentation - PRG Advisory Committee MFSD Youth Activities 2023 Director Keith reviewed the Metropolitan Football Stadium District Act Presentation that detailed the distribution of a one-time payment to local municipalities from the sale of the NFL Broncos sports team. Commerce City was awarded $613,462 to be used towards youth activity programs in the community and must report how the funds were spent within the year. Possible areas for the funds were outlined and members also shared their feedback. Recommendations will be made to City Council and they will make the final decision. 6. Community Engagement/Interaction Updates & Feedback Feedback was shared that recreation center users were frustrated with the recent closure of facilities due to inclement weather/snow and not getting notifications until coming to the building. Facility closures are posted on the City’s website and the voice mail message indicates the closure as well. The youth basketball programs have been very organized and well attended. A request was received to extend the open swim time on Saturday mornings, which is the time reserved for swim lessons. Clarification that only Bison Ridge has electric charging stations for cars. 7.
