Call To Order/Roll Call/Pledge of Allegiance - 6:00 PM Meeting was called to order at 6:02 pm by Co-Chair Houde. Members Present: DeLilah Collins, Oz Flores, Josh Houde, Craig Hurst, Desiree Martinelli, Shawn McDowell, Kaitlin Nares, Chris Niyork, Michael Stegman, Paul Welander Absent: Alejandro Garcia, Susan Noble, Katie Southard Staff present: Carolyn Keith, Chad Redin, Tim Duda, Maria Jepson, Marina Andalon and Pam Young Guest: Karl Zimmerman, City Resident Let the record show Member Hurst joined the meeting on 6:10 pm and Member McDowell joined the meeting at 6:47 p.m. 2. Committee Member Update We have a new City Council member on the Committee – Susan Noble 3. Approval of Minutes A motion was made by Member Welander seconded by Member Martinelli to approve the February 21, 2023 minutes as submitted. VOTE: Unanimous. The motion passed. 4. Unfinished Business 23-056 '80s Prom Donations for Silent Auction - Josh Houde and DeLilah Collins (no attached documents/discussion only) With less than two weeks until the event, things are in the final stages with only a small window of time to get any remaining silent auction items or donations finalized. PRG put together a couple of baskets for the auction. If committee members want to provide a collaborative PRGAC item, Josh will coordinate donations to then purchase a Buffalo Run gift card. 5. New Business Commerce City Page 1 Parks, Recreation, and Golf Meeting Minutes - Final March 21, 2023 Advisory Committee 23-053 Introduction - Marina Andolon, Communication Specialist II, Community Relations - Chad Redin (no attached documents/discussion only) Deputy Director Redin introduced Marina Andalon to the committee members. She shared more information about her background and role with the city. Her goal is to develop an all-encompassing communications and marketing plan by year end as well as outlining other branding and social media guidelines. The committee members thanked her for coming and sharing more about herself and her role. 23-054 Recommendations for promotional items to give away at events - Josh Houde and DeLilah Collins (no attached documents/discussion only) Discussed upcoming events and possible items narrowing the multitude of options down to reusable tote bags, tumblers, sports bottles, Frisbees and possibly food related branding/packaging. Co-Chair Collins will work from this list to create and send out a poll for members to rank their preferred items. 23-055 2023 Work Plan Adoption - Carolyn Keith Attachments: 3-21 Presentation - Work Plan 2023 Reviewed work plan presentation and discussed the various elements outlined. Discussion included committee participation requirements, upcoming Master Plan Update engagement expectations, collaborative events with Quality Community Foundation, Community Outreach & Development efforts, reviewing PRG fees and charges, providing cost recovery feedback as well as attending the annual City tour (2023 date TBD.) A motion was made by Member Collins seconded by Member Houde to approve the PRGAC Work Plan as outlined. VOTE: Unanimous. The motion passed. 6. Community Engagement/Interaction Updates & Feedback Member Stegman attended the public meeting for the Oasis and Second Creek Farm Park Designs. There was a good turn out and residents provided feedback regarding park services. Amended to include the notation that Paul Welander also attended the outreach meeting. 7. Council Member Reports & Information Council Member Hurst advised there is a conflict with Commerce City’s annual Memorial Day Parade and the opening of a new Adams County’s Veteran’s Memorial scheduled at the same time. City Council is also discussing future events such as a mini-triathlon. Director Keith suggested for staff to provide an update on possible future events at the April meeting. 8. Committee Member Reports & Information Questions were submitted regarding tree care at Fonterra Park; specifically if sleeves can be put around trees to protect them from disease and if vendors are brought in to provide care and maintenance on the trees. Director Keith advised that a follow up can be provided at the next meeting. Amended to include the notation the sleeves would protect from weed wacking/whipping. Meeting Guest Zimmerman inquired on the MFSD Article 33 distribution and staff provided clarification. 10.
