1. Call to Order
Vice Chair Boyd called the meeting to order at 3:01 p.m.
Present 10 - Commissioner Anita Mercado, Commissioner Carol Taylor-Boyd,
Commissioner Carole Harvell, Ex Officio Gabriela Adeshewo, Commissioner
George Maxey, Commissioner Jennie Loveridge, Mayor Pro Tem Jennifer
Allen-Thomas, Commissioner Mary Natho, Commissioner Myrna Ferguson,
and Commissioner Tillie Villareal
Absent 3 - Alternate Commissioner Diane Narvaez, Commissioner Mary Chan, and
Council Member Susan Noble
2. Approval of Minutes
Min 23-101 Minutes of March 9, 2023 Meeting
Mayor Pro Tem Allen-Thomas made a motion to approve the minutes as amended.
Commissioner Harvell seconded the motion which was approved unanimously.
Mayor Pro Tem Allen-Thomas made a motion to move the City Council Update to after
minutes approval. Vice Chair Boyd seconded the motion which was approved
unanimously.
Commissioners Mercado and Villareal joined the meeting.
Mayor Pro Tem Allen-Thomas provided an update on recent City Council action.
3. Public Comment
No public comment.
4. Monthly Budget Update
Staff provided a budget update.
5. New Business
The Commission discussed the Senior Needs Assessment and shared an update from
the Coffee in the Lobby event at the Bison Ridge Rec Center.

6. Subcommittee Reports:
A. Senior Resource Fair
The Commission discussed the Senior Resource Fair.
Karla Ojeda from Adams County introduced herself and shared her support for the
Senior Resource Fair.
Commissioner Natho made a motion to waive the vendor fee for presenters at the
Senior Resource Fair. Commissioner Villareal seconded the motion which was
approved unanimously.
Commissioner Ferguson and Mayor Pro Tem Allen-Thomas left the meeting.
Commissioner Loveridge made a motion to include temporary employers in the Senior
Resource Fair. Commissioner Villareal seconded the motion which was approved
unanimously.
B. Senior Outreach Events
No discussion.
7. Old Business
The Commission discussed the Memorial Day Parade.
8. City Council Update
This item was discussed earlier in the meeting.
9. Adjourn
Vice Chair Boyd adjourned the meeting at 4:45 p.m.
