Call to Order Chair Plummer called the meeting to order at 3:04 p.m. Present 10 - Commissioner Carol Taylor-Boyd, Commissioner Carole Harvell, Alternate Commissioner Diane Narvaez, Ex Officio Gabriela Adeshewo, Commissioner Jennie Loveridge, Mayor Pro Tem Jennifer Allen-Thomas, Commissioner Mary Chan, Commissioner Mary Natho, Council Member Susan Noble, and Commissioner Tillie Villareal Absent 3 - Commissioner Anita Mercado, Commissioner George Maxey, and Commissioner Myrna Ferguson 2. Approval of Minutes Min 23-152 Minutes of May 11, 2023 Meeting Commissioner Chan made a motion to approve the minutes of the May 11, 2023 meeting. Vice Chair Boyd seconded the motion which was approved unanimously. 3. Public Comment None. 4. Monthly Budget Update Staff will provide an update in July. 5. New Business The Commission requested an update on the Senior Needs Assessment at the July meeting. Additionally, direction was provided to use the previously approved budget to purchase a thank you lunch for partners and volunteers at the Senior Resource Fair at the July meeting. Commerce City Page 1 Senior Commission Meeting Minutes - Final June 8, 2023 6. Subcommittee Reports: A. Senior Resource Fair The Commission discussed the upcoming Senior Resource Fair. Additionally, upcoming outreach opportunities were identified to market the Senior Resource Fair to the local community. B. Senior Outreach The Commission determined the Fall senior outreach events would be discussed further at the July meeting, including determining dates and locations for the remaining three events. 7. Old Business: A. June Study Session The Commission determined not to hold a study session on June 29. Mayor Pro Tem Allen-Thomas and Ex-Officio member Adeshewo left the meeting. 8. City Council Update An update was provided. 9. Adjourn Chair Plummer adjourned the meeting at 5:01 p.m. Commerce City Page 2
