1. Call To Order/Roll Call
Chair Acevedo called the meeting to order at 6:45pm.
Present: Commissioner Bob Grandinetti, Commissioner Cobe Koonce,
Commissioner Diana C Juarez-Malagon, Commissioner Christina Wickersheim,
Commissioner Desiree Kennison, Commissioner Christopher Suazo, Commissioner
April Acevedo, Councilmember Kim, Commissioner Alejandra Guardiola,
Commissioner Manuel Guardiola-Rodriguez, Commissioner Maria Marentes,
Commissioner Aliyah Acevedo, Commissioner Anna Saia, Commissioner Adam Day
Absent: Commissioner Serrianna Safieh, Councilmember Douglas, Commissioner
Olivia Cordero, Commissioner Travis Watkins, Commissioner Paia Martinez,
Commissioner Elizabeth Martines-Atayde, Commissioner Eduardo Quintana
2. Public Comment

3. Approval of Minutes
Commissioner Grandinetti made a motion to approve the minutes of August 15, 2024.
Commissioner Kennison seconded the motion which was approved unanimously.

4. Unfinished Business
a. Chair Acevedo proposed Monday, Sep 23rd as a team building day for the Youth
Commission and shared three activities. The commission voted on attending a
Pumpkin Patch. Commissioner Guardiola made a motion to approve Monday,
September 23rd as the teambuilding day. Commissioner Kennison seconded the
motion which was passed unanimously.
b. Chair Acevedo presented two mock ups of the KSA t shirts to the group to which
they voted on the cream colored one. Leslie also shared that the KSA flyer and
application would go live on Sep 16th.
c. Chair Acevedo discussed new apparel for the commission, to which the group
voted on a long sleeve and a short sleeve. They requested mock ups for the next
meeting.
d. Chair Acevedo discussed new marketing materials for the commission.

Commissioner Suazo made a motion to purchase 2 feather banners and 3 table
cloths. Commissioner Kennison seconded the motion which was passed
unanimously.
e. Chair Acevedo proposed the new SMARTIE Goals for the 2024-2025 school year.
Commissioner Guardiola-Rodriguez made a motion to pass the new SMARTIE goals.
Commissioner Guardiola seconded the motion which was passed unanimously.
f. The commission reviewed the 2024-2025 budget and discussed as a group.
g. The commission provided a list of organizations they want at the KSA Life After
High School Fair.
5. New Business
Chair Acevedo conducted the Rise Above sticker challenge with the commission.
6. Adjourn
Chair Acevedo adjourned the meeting at 7:50pm.
