COOKEVILLE HISTORIC ZONING COMMISSION MINUTES JUNE 14, 2005 5:30 P.M. The Cookeville Historic Zoning Commission met on Tuesday, June 14, 2005, at 5:30 p.m. in the Council Chambers, 45 East Broad Street, Cookeville, TN 38501. MEMBERS PRESENT: Alma Anderson, Mary Jean Delozier, Don Prince, and Greg Stamps. MEMBERS ABSENT: Calvin Dickinson. STAFF PRESENT: James Mills and Jayne Barns. OTHERS PRESENT: Patty Martin and Megan Davis. ELECTION OF CHAIRMAN AND VICE-CHAIRMAN. Greg Stamps made the motion to elect Don Prince as Chairman. CHAIRMAN: DON PRINCE. Alma Anderson seconded the motion and the motion carried unanimously. Mary Jean Delozier made the motion to elect Greg Stamps as Vice- Chairman. Alma Anderson seconded the motion and the motion carried unanimously. VICE- CHAIRMAN: GREG STAMPS. CONSIDER FOR APPROVAL THE MINUTES OF FEBRUARY 8, 2005. Alma Anderson made the motion to approve the minutes of February 8, 2005. Greg Stamps seconded the motion and the motion carried unanimously. APPROVED. HOLD A PUBLIC HEARING AND CONSIDER FOR APPROVAL DESIGN GUIDELINES FOR THE CREAM CITY HISTORIC DISTRICT LOCATED ON WEST BROAD STREET. James Mills stated that proposed Design Guidelines for the Cream City Historic District have been developed and have been distributed to the property owners in the district. A Public Hearing is required prior to considering design guidelines for adoption. The Cream City Historic District consists of 13 properties owned by 13 different property owners. Nine (9) property owners, excluding the city of Cookeville, have now notified the Planning Department that they are in favor of the proposed guidelines. Excluding the City of Cookeville, an approval percentage of 69 percent is indicated, which meets the 2/3s majority requirement necessary for the adoption of the guidelines. Staff recommended approval of the design guidelines. Greg Stamps made the motion to approve the Design Guidelines for the Cream City Historic District located on West Broad Street. Alma Anderson seconded the motion and the motion carried unanimously. APPROVED. ADJOURNMENT: 5:36 P.M.
