Parkway Boulevard. The purpose of this meeting was to consider the following items: Regular Session (Open to the Public) 1. Call To Order Chair Guignon called the meeting to order at 6:30 pm. Members present: Ed Guignon, Nick Paschal, Margaret Bryan, Brian Olsen, Earl Rogers, Maureen Corcoran, Maheshika Ratnayake, Kevin Erickson, Divya Ravindra, Shivi Sharma 2. Introduction of Board Members City of Coppell, Texas Page 1 Parks and Recreation Board Minutes January 6, 2020 Boardmembers and staff gave their introductions. 3. Election of Officers Boardmember Corcoran motioned to nominate Boardmember Guignon as Chair and Boardmember Paschal as Vice-Chair, Boardmember Olsen seconded the motion. The motion carried by an unanimous vote. 4. Citizens' Forum: Citizens should complete a Citizens Appearance Form. Pursuant to the State Open Meetings Law, the Board is restricted in discussing or taking action on items not posted on the Agenda. Action on your statements can only be taken at future meetings. Monica Montes, 249 Enclaves Court, expressed her interest in an enclosed dog park at Andrew Brown Park East. 5. Approval of Minutes: November 4, 2019 A motion was made by Boardmember Rogers, seconded by Boardmember Olsen, that this agenda item to be approved. The motion carried by a unanimous vote. 6. Status report on current projects John Elias, Parks Special Project Manager, gave an update on the following Park and Trail Projects: Biodiversity Education Center Nature Play Space, Campion Trail Connector, The CORE Bridge Replacement, Moore Roard/Riverchase/Fairway Bike Lanes, ABW/CHS Connector Trail, Rolling Oaks Memorial Center expansion, Old Town Pavilion Doors, MacArthur Blvd. Trail, Grapevine Springs Park Dredging and Wall, Elevated Boardwalk Trail Sections at Magnolia Park. 7. Director's Report A. Update on Departmental Accreditation and Gold Medal Status Jessica Carpenter, Assistant Director or Recreation gave a report on the following: A. CAPRA update B. Gold Medal status update and video presentation 8. Youth Advisor's Report Youth Advisor, Sharma, suggested that the Parks Department reach out to CHS Student Council and CHS National Honor Society for upcoming Special Event volunteers. 9. Chair Report A. Future Agenda Items Nothing to report. A. No items at this time.
