Parkway Boulevard. The purpose of this meeting was to consider the following items: Regular Session (Open to the Public) 1. Call To Order Chair Guignon called the meeting to order at 6:32 pm. Members present: Ed Guignon, Nick Paschal, Margaret Bryan, Earl Rogers, Maheshika Ratnayake, Maureen Corcoran, Zainab Tinwala, Natasha Banga Staff Present: Jessica Carpenter, Cecilia Gandara, Guy Mclain, Laci McKinney, John Elias City of Coppell, Texas Page 1 Parks and Recreation Board Minutes November 1, 2021 2. Citizens' Forum: Citizens should complete a Citizens Appearance Form which can be requested from the Parks and Recreation Department no later than 2:00PM on the first Monday of each month. Pursuant to the State Open Meetings Law, the Board is restricted in discussing or taking action on items not posted on the Agenda. Action on your statements can only be taken at future meetings. Chair Guignon advised that no one signed up to speak. 3. Consider approval of minutes: October 4, 2021 A motion was made by Boardmember Corcoran, seconded by Boardmember Rogers, that this agenda item be approved. The motion carried by an unanimous vote. 4. Presentation regarding a potential cricket field in Coppell. Guy McLain, Assistant Director of Operations, gave a presentation in regards to a potential cricket field in Coppell. 5. Manager's Update - Laci McKinney, Senior and Community Center Manager Laci Mckinney, Senior and Community Center Manager, gave an update on current and future activities at the Grapevine Springs Senior and Community Center. 6. Youth Advisor's Report Youth Advisor, Natasha Banga, expressed her interest in youth volunteer opportunities within the Parks and Recreation Department. She would also like to add a proclamation for National Speech Day on March 3. Youth Advisor, Advika Varadharajan, updated the board on a project she has been working on. Special Events November 6: Veteran's Day Ceremony at Rolling Oaks Memorial Center; Fall Frolick at the Biodiversity Center; Sunset Social Date Night in the Park at Andrew Brown East November 13: Potted Potter at the Arts Center; Document Shredding at the Service Center November 20: Gobble Wobble Run at Andrew Brown East December 4: Holiday Parade and Tree Lighting December 6: Angel of Hope Celebration B. Projects Grapevine Springs Wall project should be completed at the end of the month. Magnolia Park Trail project is on hold due to further testing.
