Attendance: Matt Josef, Tai Roger (chair), Erik Quiroz, Jacob McIntosh, Nyx Poulin, Anne Beach,
Helen West (city liaison), Mayor Rachel Medina (Council representative)
1. Call to Order: 5:09 PM
2. Introduction of those present:
a. Public Input/ Comments: None
3. Approval of minutes from May 6, 2024 meeting: Motion by Josef, Seconded by McIntosh
4. Old Business:
a. Third Thursday Updates & Pick Days to Volunteer
i. June 20: Rogers and McIntosh can setup at booth, Poulin and Josef
1. 81321, Handouts, surveys, large coloring book copy, print pages from
coloring book to color (add where to buy coloring book to pages), get
Mural Brochure for 3rd Thursdays (get a stack CREA)
ii. July 18: West, Beach is available; Rogers is available for setup ‘Kid stuff’
1. Beach will doing painted rocks
iii. August 15: West, Beach
1. Painted rocks, potential 81321 stuff
iv. September 19: West,
b. 81321 Update (West): Reminder: Second round of grant funding closes July 1, volunteer
review committee will meet on July 11 at noon.
i. *Volunteer Review Committee: Helen West, Erik Quiroz, Anne Beach, Matt Josef
& Tai Rogers (if he is here)
c. Historic Cortez Coloring Book and Historic Preservation Month Events Review
d. CCA Logos (Steinberg) – Table until next month
e. Following up on goals for the Committee for the coming year, i.e. think about the Arts
District benchmarks and strategize how to move forward. Ref. Work plan on Pg. 3 & 4.

v. Want to set aside an Ad Hoc meeting to talk about the work plan.
1. Ad Hoc should overview, what has been done, how to become, pros and
cons…strategic plan….(schedule ad hoc at next meeting – 1st agenda
item)

a. CIRSA (Colorado Intergovernmental Risk Sharing Agency - Public Entity Self Insurance)

6. Update from Committee Members:
- Jake McIntosh has a regular Wine Down every Friday night 6 – 8 PM at the Zu Gallery
- Nyx Poulin joined the Cortez Community Band
- Anne Beach – working with Mancos Chamber for Grand Summer Nights (July 13) and Old
Fashion Christmas
- Matt Josef has a birthday on June 26 (Happy Birthday!)
- Tai Rogers summer camps Behind the Drywall Camp at PCCC, Health Careers Institute,
Environmental & Climate at Fort Lewis – about 50, 30, 50 all high school Dove Creek to
Ignacio
- Erik Quiroz, KSJD was at River Fest, Sasquatch Sunset is showing at the Theater on June
14 and is producing a play in Los Angeles I’ve Grown Plenty Thanks – satirical comedy
about a woman's love live – Hollywood Fringe June 10 – 18,
- Mayor Medina – will be out of town for next meeting, would like to attend ad hoc
