City of Cortland - Historic/Architectural Board Historic and/or Architectural Advisory Board City of Cortland May 9, 2017 A regular meeting of the Historic and/or Architectural Review Board was held on Tuesday, May 9, 2017, at 25 Court St Mayor’s Conference Room at 8:00 am. Present: Chairman Linda Kline, Commissioners Dan Dineen, Pam Abbott, Karina Murphy (arrived late), Richard Stock Absent: Commissioner Chris Barnes Staff Present: Confidential Secretary Devon Rainbow, Zoning Officer Bob Rhea Minutes of April 11, 2017: a motion was made to approve the minutes as presented. Motion by: Comm. Dineen Seconded by: Comm. Stock Approved: Ayes – 4 Nays – 0 Item #1 – 64 Main St. (Seales) – Outside Seating  Extend current seating area Judd Seales was present for the meeting. It was explained that he would like to extend the current concrete seating area along the West Court side of the Marketplace Mall. It will expand 15ft by 12ft wide and will connect to the existing slab. The current wooden deck tiles previously approved by the board will extend to cover the addition. It will be enclosed using the same concrete planters and chain that was previously approved and are currently being used. A motion was made to approve the application as presented. Motion by: Comm. Dineen Seconded by: Comm. Stock Approved: Ayes – 4 Nays – 0 New Business/Old Business: 77-79 Main Street still has 3 windows to replace as proposed in 2014. Minutes of May 9, 2017 meeting  City of Cortland - Historic/Architectural Board 98 Tompkins St (Babjack) has not fixed the fence that was proposed and approved in June 2015. ZEO Bob Rhea has talked to him and he was assured it would be done by the end of May 2017. There is a new Hair Solon at 11 Groton Ave. ZEO Bob Rhea talked to the owner and they are going to be putting an application together for signage to bring to the commission. This was addressed in April 2017. 22 Main St. has a new sign in his window. It was asked that ZEO Bob Rhea check in with the owner regarding this. The sign is under the canopy and in the shape of a paddle. Adjournment: Motion by: Comm. Murphy Seconded by: Comm.
