City of Cortland - Historic/Architectural Board Historic and/or Architectural Advisory Board City of Cortland July 9th, 2019 A special meeting of the Historic and/or Architectural Review Board was held on Tuesday, July 9th, 2019, at 25 Court St, Mayor’s Conference Room at 8:00 am. Present: Chairman Linda Kline, Commissioners Richard Stock, Dan Dineen, Pam Abbott, and Chris Barnes Excused: Commissioner Karina Murphy. Staff Present: ZEO Bob Rhea Minutes of May 14, 2019: Motion by: Comm. Dineen Seconded by: Comm. Stock Approved: Ayes – 4 Nays – 0 Item #1 – 5 Main St. (DeChick) - Signage  New business Mr. DeChick was present to represent 5 Main St. He is looking to put up a sign for his store Vape Kult. He brought a piece of his sign with him to show what it would look like. The sign is 9’ long and 12” wide. The material of the field backing is metal with black coloring and the frame metal and is going to be painted black. The framing is 3” wide. The letter size is 12”, metal and the color is white. Graphic material will be metal with white color. There is no lighting internal or external at this time. The main concerns were the windows and the door with the coverage by signage or lighting. The windows will not have anything in them or on them. The door is the only place where there is any covering. Motion to approve subject to any variance from the ZBA for if it determined that the door has more than 25% of the window covered with signage: Motion by: Comm. Dineen Seconded by: Comm.
