TOWN OF DANE ANNUAL MEETING MINUTES
April 18, 2023
6:30 PM
Attendance: Angie Volkman (clerk), Jana Nolden (treasurer), Barb Koenig (resident), and
Kendra Tutsch (resident).
1. Call meeting to order. Meeting was called to order at 6:30pm by Town of Dane Chair –
Dave Koenig.
2. Minutes from April 19,2022 Annual Town Meeting. Angie Volkman read the minutes from
the April 19, 2022, Town of Dane Annual Meeting. Motion by Kendra Tutsch, second by
George Dorn to approve minutes as read. Motion carried unanimously.
3. Treasurer’s report. Jana Nolden presented the treasurer’s report from 2022. Motion by
George Dorn, second by Rich Haag to accept the treasurers report as presented and
read. Motion carried unanimously.
4. Audit Report from 2022. Angie Volkman reported that the audit committee met on
4/17/2023 at 6pm and compared bank statements thoroughly with receipts and
disbursement and found all 2022 to be reconciled. Motion by Barb Koenig, second by
Rich Haag to accept audit report as read. Motion carried unanimously.
5. EMS Report. Rich Haag reported that Lodi EMS has ordered a new ambulance and they
are currently 18 months out. Rich is also working on contract between Lodi and Dane
and see no issues with us continuing to work with Lodi EMS. Waunakee EMS has 12
fulltime paramedics, and they are looking at switching out ambulances every 3 years.
6. Fire District Report. George Dorn reported that 2022 was a quite year for the Fire District.
There were no new trucks bought in 2022 but do need new face masks every 10 years –
the ones for the front of the helmet and they run around $300/each and have ordered 12
which is about a 1/3 of what is needed so will take around 3 years to get all replaced.
Fire District is also looking into radios but currently looking at $4200/each and need
about 30.
7. Elections Report. Kendra Tutsch reported that Town of Dane had 2 elections in 2023
with about 36% turn out in February and about 65% turn out in April. Our election
inspectors are due in 24 to be reappointed so will need to add that to the December
agenda. 2024 is looking to have 3 elections – April, Aug and Nov and Feb is a possibility.
Kenda and Angie are working with our website and IT on converting our website from
.org to .gov.
8. Public Works Report. Dave Koenig reported that we are contracted with Scott’s &
Fahrner for Lodi-Springfield sealcoating. Dave also talked about working with banks and
see what loans are available for the culverts that are needed on our roads. Scott’s
Construction will be redoing Fellows Rd and Lodi-Springfield Rd along with redoing spots
of Pertzborn Rd where the seal didn’t seal correctly at no charge to the Town of Dane.
9. Recycling Center – Spring Clean-Up 5/6/2023 8am-12 & Addtl Hours for Summer: May
10th -Sept 27th 5-6:30pm (Wednesday’s Nights). Rich Haag reported that our Transfer
Site is clean and being used a lot both Saturdays and Wednesdays in the Summer when
open. Kendra worked on getting new signage for the Transfer Site that reads “RESIDENTS
ONLY”.
10. Open Book & Board of Review Dates. Open Book 5/18 4-6 and Board of Review 5/30 4-6
both being held at Town of Dane Hall.
11. Any other business. Angie thank’d the board for approving the use of ADP Payroll for
payroll. Angie was able to also get the Patrolmen using digital timecards and getting
vacation and sick hours on pay stubs.
12. Adjourn. Motion by Dave Koenig, second by Rich Haag to adjourn. Motion carried
unanimously.
