7/10/2023 Minutes
Attendance: Pat Cadigen (Tri-County), Perry Heiser (Public), and Kendra Tutsch (Resident)
1. Call meeting to order. The meeting was called to order by Dave Koenig at 6:32pm.
2. Proof of posting. Posted on Town website, Town Hall door, Post Office, and Dane Lumber.
3. Roll call. Dave Koenig, George Dorn and Rich Haag.
4. Addition or Corrections/Approval of Agenda. Confirmed, no changes.
5. Approve minutes from the last regular board meeting 6/5/2023. Motion by Koenig, second by Haag to
approve the minutes from 6/5/2023. Motion carried unanimously. Motion by Dorn, second by Haag
to approve the minutes from 6/19/2023 special meeting. Motion carried unanimously.
6. Treasurer Report. Motion by Dorn, second by Haag to approve the treasurer report as presented and
read. Motion carried unanimously.
7. Public Input-no action will be taken. None.
8. Public Works:
a. Sealcoating update
b. Invoice. Received an invoice from Scotts Construction for $54,000 of which $50,000 was for
Lodi-Springfield and $5,400 was for Bauman Rd.
c. Culvert replacement on Brereton Rd. The culvert is plugged, and the mower doesn’t go down in
ditch. Dave wants to discuss with a few people and get prices for the next meeting.
9. Election Update. Tutsch reported that we are wrapping up the 4 year non-voters and if they come to vote,
they will now have to register if they didn’t send back card sent out. The state is redesigning the absentee
envelopes both inner and outer and applied for the sub-grant and was awarded the full $97.07. We will
have at least 3 elections in 2024 with a possible 4 if we have a Feb election. In December the board will
need to appoint the 24/25 poll workers.
10. Recycling Report. Haag reported that the transfer site has been busy with Wednesday still having a decent
number of residents using that added on night.
11. Fire District Report. Dorn reported that every year the trucks get checked for safety to be on the road and
that place use to be in DeForest but now in Slinger. The bill that was received for checking 2 tricks was
$17,000 which included travel expenses and labor, but all trucks passed inspections with items noted that
do need to be addressed.
12. EMS Report. Haag reported that Waunakee had its EMS meeting on 6/8/23 and they approved the minutes
and expenditures. They are also working on contract with union paramedics and going back and looking at
the 1978 agreement creating EMS districts.
13. Old Business. (The following items will be discussed and may have action taken on them.) None.
14. New Business. (The following items will be discussed and may have action on them.)
1. Sean Gallagher- Driveway Permit. Motion by Dorn, second by Haag to approve Sean Gallagher
driveway permit. Motion carried unanimously.
2. Special Meeting 7/24/2023 - discussion of Eight (8) conditions for a Conditional Use Permit (CUP).
Confirmed. Motion by Haag, second by Dorn to hire Mid-State for Quarry Project as consulting
engineer.
3. Discussion of crops being plated in the Township Right of Way. Dave recommended that he, Rich and
Geroge each do a section of the Town and write down who is in the right-of-way and bring back
findings to the next meeting.
15. Correspondence to be presented – No Action to be taken.
16. Bills to be paid. Motion by Haag, second by Dorn to pay the bills. Motion carried unanimously.
17. Set next meeting date. Aug 7, 2023, at 6:30pm.
18. Adjourn. Motion by Dorn, second by Haag to adjourn. Motion carried unanimously.
