TOWN OF DANE ANNUAL MEETING Minutes
April 16, 2024, 6:30 PM
Board Members: Dave Koenig (Town Chair), Geroge Dorn (Town Supervisor 1) and Rich Haag (Town Supervisor II).
Attendance: Angie Volkman (Town Chair), Jana Nolden (Town Treasurer), and Barb Koenig (Resident).
1. Call meeting to order. The Town of Dane Annual Meeting was called to order at 6:30pm by Town of Dane
Chair, Dave Koenig.
2. Minutes from April 18,2023 Annual Town Meeting. Angie Volkman read minutes from the Town of Dane
Annual Meeting from April 18, 2023. Motion by Dave Koenig, second by George Dorn to approve the
minutes as read. Motion carried unanimously.
3. Treasurer’s report. Jana Nolden read and presented the Board with the Town of Dane Cash and Bank
Reconcilement 2023. Motion by George Dorn, second by Rich Haag to approve the 2023 information as
read. Motion carried unanimously.
4. Audit Report for 2023. Angie Volkman reported that the audit committee met on 4/10/2024 at 6:30pm
and compared bank statements thoroughly with receipts and disbursement and found all 2023 to be
reconciled. Motion by Barb Koenig, second by George Dorn to accept the audit report as read. Motion
carried unanimously.
5. EMS Report. Rich Haag reported that the Lodi EMS is waiting on an ambulance. Rich also noted that
Waunakee EMS entered into an agreement with Middleton to best utilize EMS services for the two areas.
6. Fire District Report. George Dorn mentioned that he didn’t have much to report since the April Town
Board meeting. He did mention that radios have not been purchased as they are working on what will
work and that 12 face masks are not working properly so they are purchasing those 12 and will need to
purchase more in 2024.
7. Elections Report. Kendra Tutsch reported that the April Spring Election held on 4/2/24 had 38% registered
voters with 3 new poll workers as well. The Town of Dane will have 3 elections in 2024-4/2/24, 8/13/24,
and 11/5/24. Dane County is also holding an Election Security meeting this summer to help with getting
ready for the Presidential Election in Nov which will hold a very high turnout.
8. Public Works Report. Dave Koenig reported that we have been good from last year to now. The Town of
Dane is operating with 1 Patrolman and will ask for assistance with plowing, trimming of trees, and other
tasks as needed. No seal coating has been discussed.
9. Recycling Center – Spring Clean-Up 5/4/2024 8am-12 & Addtl Hours for Summer: May 8th -Sept 25th 5-
6:30pm (Wednesday’s Nights). Rich Haag noted that the Transfer Site is going well and staying clean. Also
noted that Larry Wipperfurth does a great job. He is also handing out flyers for the Spring Clean Up as
well. Rich would like to see the Town have a toll that can roll on the ground and pick up nails and Rich
would like to purchase/donate for the Town. Angie Volkman noted that the Town of Dane received the
2023 Recycling Grant in the amount of around $350.00.
10. Open Book & Board of Review Dates. Open Book: 4/30/24 4-6pm; Board of Review: 5/15/24 4-6pm.
11. Any other business. Angie Volkman noted that she received an email from Deputy Jodi that there have
been a lot of break-ins with vehicles so notifying that everyone should be locking up vehicles.
12. Adjourn. Motion by Barb Koenig, second by Kendra Tutsch to adjourn. Motion carried unanimously.
