7/1/2024 Minutes
Attendance: Jana Nolden (Treasurer), Kendra Tutsch (Resident) and Darin Wendt (Resident).
Board: Dave Koenig, George Dorn, Richard Haag
1. Call meeting to order. Meeting was called to order at 6:30pm by Dave Koenig, Town of Dane
Chair.
2. Agenda Confirmation. Agenda Confirmed.
3. Approve minutes from previous meeting: June 10, 2024. Motion by Dorn, second by Haag to
approve minutes from 6/10/2024 meeting, with spelling correction. Motion carried
unanimously.
4. Treasurer’s report will be presented. Motion by Dorn, second by Haag to accept the
Treasurer’s Report as presented. Motion carried unanimously.
5. Public Input. Kendra Tutsch suggested when redo ditches may want to think about all the runoff
from roads due to storms.
6. Public Works Report: Storm Damage reports: busy cleaning out ditches and cleaning up tree by
Gluth Rd. due to storms. Brian Schmidt billed $22,187.50, hauled away debris and brought in
gravel, probably have another $4,000-$5,000 to be billed. Turned in emergency assessment
summary on June 24th at 3pm with an estimate of $35,000 in damage to Dane County
Emergency Management.
a. Culverts, Ditches, Sealcoating Proposals Action Possible: Have quote for Lodi Springfield
Rd culvert for $18,906.00 and corner of Gluth Rd/Bowman Rd for $13,188.00 (this one
may be covered with Emergency Management funds). Motion by Koenig, second by
Haag to replace culverts replace culverts on Lodi Springfield Rd and Gluth Rd/Bowman
Rd. Motion carried unanimously. Waiting on other bids for sealcoating, culverts and
ditches.
7. EMS Report: Waunakee meeting was held June 13th – approved minutes and expenditures.
Doing ambulance repairs, Dane County lets them use their ambulance until repairs are done.
New billing service should take 6-12 months to get all switched over. Cot scale (mat to weigh
patient) should be installed and trained how to use. Working with Medicare on payments. OSHA
is coming out with more rules on physical training – waiting to see what they must do. Lodi
meeting was held June 27th, Rich was out of town, looking into and will report back.
8. Recycling Committee Report: Wednesday nights are busy. Clean. Signage is on all dumpsters.
Being asked about curbside pickup, will investigate this.
9. Fire District Report: Met June 24th – approved minutes, one truck has issues with lights which is
being fixed. Discussed oil changes and service, currently doing yearly, decided to do every two
years. Approved bills.
10. ATV/UTV: Discussion on Ordinance for ATV/UTV-possible action. Attorney Paul Johnson had
three suggestions. First, it is not allowed to designate roads as local access only for ATV/UTV
use. Second, in section 6 there are provisions that are stricter than statute provides, which is
okay just need to state what provision controls the ordinance. Third, immediately after adopted
the Clerk needs to send the ordinance to the DNR, State Patrol and Dane County Sheriff.
Motion by Koenig, second by Dorn to adopt Ordinance 2024-1 with the removal of Stewart
and Mulcahy Road from Section 4 and add in section 7: If the provisions of this ordinance
contradict the provisions of section 23.33, chapters 340-348 or NR64, the stricter provision will
control the terms of this ordinance. Motion carried unanimously.
11. Correspondence to be presented. None
12. Bills to be paid. Motion by Haag, second by Dorn to approve the bills. Motion carried
unanimously.
13. Set next meeting date August 5,2024. Confirmed
14. Adjourn. Motion by Dorn, second by Haag to adjourn. Motion carried unanimously.
