8/5/2024 Minutes Attendance: Angie Volkman (Clerk), Kendra Tutsch (Resident) Board: Dave Koenig, George Dorn, Richard Haag 1. Call meeting to order. Meeting was called to order at 6:30pm by Dave Koenig, Town of Dane Chair. 2. Agenda Confirmation. Agenda Confirmed. 3. Approve minutes from previous meeting: July 1, 2024. Motion by Haag, second by Dorn to approve minutes from 7/1/2024 meeting. Motion carried unanimously. 4. Treasurer’s report will be presented. Motion by Dorn, second by Haag to accept the Treasurer’s Report as presented. Motion carried unanimously. 5. Public Input. Koenig noted that the Town of Dane Board is contemplating a review of the Comprehensive Plan, which hasn’t been updated since 2001/2002. Nancy Roth expressed her gratitude to the Board for their efforts on the Quarry CUP and inquired about the next steps in the process. Dave mentioned that if Tri-County appeals, we will consult our Attorney for further guidance. Dave extended his thanks to Rich and George for all their efforts with the Quarry. a. Culverts, Ditches, Sealcoating Proposals. Dave and Angie are working to get the Local Application and Damage Assessment submitted, which is due 8/24/24. The Wisconsin Disaster Fund (WDF) will be possibly reimbursing the Town around $40,000. 1 Culvert was put in on Glueth Rd and Lavina Rd has been seal coated. b. Gravel pit. Dave would like the Town to send Rural an acknowledgement for service for all the help that their team did for us. 6. Recycling Committee Report. Rich updated the Board that they recycling center is in good condition and continues to see a steady turnout, with Wednesday evening remaining open till end of September from 5-6:30pm. 7. EMS Committee report. Haag reported that Lodi EMS did not hold a meeting. Waunakee had a meeting on July 11, 2024, which he was unable to attend, but noted that no major issues were discussed. 8. Fire District Report: Dorn reported that the Fire Department’s meeting was brief and focused on paying bills. The Chief also mentioned that two trucks, Tender and Engine 8, are experiencing light issues and may need to be repaired locally or possibly sent out for service. 9. Election Update a. Kendra Tutsch reported that the Town is fully prepared for the August Partisan Primary Election. She also contacted Jodi from Dane County Department about installing the speed board for Election Day. Additionally, Kendra provided Mr. Johnson, our Town Attorney, with her contact information as per guidance received from Dane County Clerk’s office. b. Optery Subscription User Agreement between the County of Dane and the Town of Dane. At the July clerk training, Scott McDonell informed the clerks that they have received a complimentary Optery subscription. He recommended that clerks review the agreement and assist with personal information management in preparation for the upcoming November election. 10. Adam Wipperfurth Rezone. Motion by Dorn, second by Haag to approve rezone. Motion carried unanimously. 11. Leroy and Terri Wipperfurth Rezone for Residential lot. Motion by Haag, second by Dorn to approve rezone. Motion carried unanimously. 12. Dave Deans Rezone for Hwy 113 Lots by County Line Rd. Motion by Dorn, second by Haag to approve rezone. Motion carried unanimously. 13. Correspondence to be presented: No Action 14. Bills to be paid. Motion by Koenig, second by Haag to approve the bills. Motion carried unanimously. 15. Set next meeting date September 9,2024. Confirmed 16. Consideration of Motion for Closed Session pursuant to Sec. 19.85(1)(c) Wis Stats. For the purpose of considering performance evaluation data of any public employee over which the governmental body has jurisdiction or exercises responsibility. Roll call to go into closed session. Motion by Dave Koenig to go into closed session, roll call-Dave Koenig-yes, George Dorn-Yes, and Rich Haag-yes. 17. Reconvene into open session: Action, if any, resulting from closed session. Rich made a motion to come out of closed session-Dave Koenig-yes, George Dorn-yes, and Rich Haag-yes. Town of Dane is pay Craig Schmelzer $538.33/month for Health Insurance effective 8/5/2024 that will be paid out on paychecks biweekly. 18. Adjourn. Motion by Dorn, second by Haag to adjourn.
