02/03/2025 Minutes Attendance: Nancy & Paul Roth, Kendra Tutsch and Craig Schmelzer Board Members: Dave Koenig, George Dorn & Rich Haag Jana Nolden – Treasurer 1. Call meeting to order. Dave Koenig, Town Chair, called the meeting to order at 6:00pm. 2. Agenda Confirmation. Dave Koenig confirmed there are no changes to the agenda. 3. Minutes from the Caucus meeting on January 4, 2025. Motion by Rich Haag, second by George Dorn to approve the minutes from the Caucus meeting held on January 4, 2025. Motion carried unanimously. 4. Minutes from the previous meeting: January 6, 2025. Motion by Rich Haag, second by George Dorn to approve the minutes from the meeting held on January 6, 2025. Motion carried unanimously. 5. Treasurer’s report will be presented. Motion by George Dorn, second by Rich Haag to approve the treasurer's report as presented and read. Motion carried unanimously. 6. Public Input-No Action. None. 7. Public Works Report. Dave Koenig noted that there is enough salt for the year. One shed full and the other three quarters full of sand/salt mixture. 8. Recycling Committee Report. Rich Haag noted that the site looks good. 9. Fire District Report. George Dorn noted that one truck had a water system leak, which is getting fixed. Radio’s last year cost $4,000 each, now $10,000. Fire department buying an emergency vehicle to transport firefighters to and from site, they will give to the district. The Fire District will pay insurance on it and any expenses. 10. EMS Report. Rich Haag noted that the Waunakee EMS meeting was held on January 9, 2025, minutes and expenditures approved. New ambulance being built this Spring, hope done by Fall. Have one open paramedic position. Still working with a new billing system, up to date with HIPAA laws, study with Middleton to see how they can work together to be more efficient is ongoing. 11. Elections Update. There will be an election on February 18, 2025, one office on the ballot will be very low turnout. Early voting starts February 5, 2025. 12. Bright Speed Internet. Bought out Centurytel, is the new company Dane County is going to hire to put internet in areas that don’t have it, the Town is listed as a place that needs help. 13. Town Right of Ways letter. Send out Right of Way ordinance to all Town residents. 14. Kelly Rd for TDR permit. Tonya Buckner has 40 acres and wants to split 4-5 acres of land for TDR, just must have 30 acres elsewhere that can’t be built on. 15. Dane County Zoning Ordinance Amendment #23 CUP Process. Have to have an answer by 2/27/25. The review process is still the same, it is in the Town’s best interest to go back to County so Town is not responsible. Motion by George Dorn, second by Rich Haag to approve the Ordinance Amendment OA23 to go back to Dane County Zoning Committee. Motion carried unanimously. 16. Dave and Rich Meeting Wis Towns Assn at Barneveld on Friday Feb 7. Board of Review Meeting. 17. Tractor update: Tires. New Holland – rear tires bad, fuel leak and PTO needs repair. Look at leasing tractor for 6 months or purchasing a different one. 18. Culver and Ditch projects for 2025. There are four culverts that are bad, need to put extension on culvert on Lodi-Springfield Rd by Hellenbrands. May want to buy culverts ourselves, going to pursue the cost of culverts. 19. Tree projects for 2025. Designate trees to be removed and cut down. Dustin Ziegler said can do off and on when has time if marked. 20. Audit for 2024. Need to be done by 4/22/25. Need to find a replacement for Judy. 21. Disaster Fund Update. Applied for $42,000, giving us $29,000. Angie must complete ACH paperwork. 22. Correspondence to be presented-No Action. None. 23. Bills to be paid. Motion by Rich Haag, second by George Dorn to approve the bills. Motion carried unanimously. 24. Set the next meeting date, March 3, 2025.
