CITY OF DARLINGTON COUNCIL PROCEEDINGS
MARCH 4, 2025
The meeting was called to order by Mayor Mike McDermott at 7:00 PM. The Pledge of
Allegiance was then recited. Present at roll call were: John Sonsalla, Steve Pickett, Kerry Black,
Joe Boll, Cindy Corley, and Dave Roelli. Absent: none Also present were Jeff McCarthy and Kim
Winslow.
Motion by Pickett, seconded by Roelli, the meeting notice and agenda were properly
posted. Motion carried.
Motion by Roelli, seconded by Sonsalla, to approve the minutes of the previous meeting.
Motion carried.
Attorney Aaron Stauffacher arrived at the meeting at 7:01pm.
Under reports, comments, suggestions, and recommendations of citizens present - nothing
to report.
Under unfinished or deferred business from previous Council meetings, discussion and
possible action was held concerning the City of Darlington Community Safe Room Operation and
Maintenance Plan. After discussion and consideration, motion by Pickett, seconded by Boll, to
approve the City of Darlington Community Safe Room Operation and Maintenance Plan as
presented. Motion carried.
Mayor Mike McDermott then advised the council progress is being made on the proposed
FEMA Flood Mitigation projects.
Under new business;
Motion by Pickett, seconded by Corley, to approve payment of the following February
2025 vouchers City ACH Vouchers #217 thru #231 in the amount of $108,227.72; City vouchers
#46368 thru #46446 in the amount of $1,474,608.45; Direct Deposit Payroll vouchers #14992 thru
#15069 in the amount of $77,649.74; Library ACH voucher #10 in the amount of $2,561.02;
Library vouchers #6354 thru #6358 in the amount of $1,867.23; Sewer Dept. ACH voucher #19 in
the amount of $1,268.51; Sewer Dept. vouchers #8167 thru #8181 in the amount of $17,576.53;
Water Dept. ACH voucher #36 in the amount of $1,268.49; Water Dept. vouchers #7562 thru
#7576 in the amount of $13,597.59.
Under reports of committees: Alderperson Boll reported on the Park & Recreation
Commission meeting held on February 26, 2025. Alderperson Corley reported the Library Board
meeting was rescheduled to March 10th, 2025.
Motion by Roelli, seconded by Sonsalla to go into closed session in accordance with
Section 19.85 (1)(g) to confer with legal counsel on a claim against the City of Darlington.
Motion by Roelli, seconded by Pickett to reconvene to regular session in accordance with
Section 19.85 (2) Wis. Stats., to take action concerning a claim against the City of Darlington,
and to adjourn the meeting. Motion by Pickett, seconded by Boll, to approve the settlement as
presented and authorize the Mayor to sign it. Motion carried.
There being no further business for this meeting, motion by Corley, seconded by Boll, to
adjourn the meeting at 7:27 pm. Motion carried.

Operation and Maintenance Plan.
8. New business. Including but not limited to the introduction of Ordinances and
Resolutions.

9. Reports of Committees.
(a) Report on the Park and Recreation meeting held on February 26, 2025.
The Council will go into closed session in accordance with Section 19.85 (1)(g) to confer with legal
counsel on a claim against the City of Darlington.
The Council will reconvene to regular session in accordance with Section 19.85 (2) Wis. Stats., to
take action concerning a claim against the City of Darlington, and to adjourn the meeting.
10. Adjourn the meeting.
