CITY OF DARLINGTON COUNCIL PROCEEDINGS
REORGANIZATIONAL MEETING
APRIL 21, 2026
The meeting was called to order by Mayor Mike McDermott at 6:45 PM. Present at roll
call were: Steve Pickett, Kerry Black, Dave Roelli, Joe Boll, and Cindy Corley. Absent: None.
Also present were: Kathy Roelli, Kevin Andrews, Attorney Jacob Gardner, Heather Blosch, Kim
Winslow, Lindsey Lange, and Amy Johnson.
Motion by Pickett, seconded by Black, that the meeting notice and agenda were properly
posted. Motion carried.
Attorney Jacob Gardner administered the Oath of Office to the recently elected Mayor and
Alderpersons at this meeting. At the April 7, 2026, Spring Election, Dave Roelli was elected
Mayor; Kerry Black was elected Alderperson, First Aldermanic District; Kevin Andrews was
elected Alderperson, Second Aldermanic District; and Joe Boll was elected Alderperson, Third
Aldermanic District. The Official Oath forms were signed and filed with the City Clerk. John
Sonsalla arrived at the meeting at 6:47 PM.
Mayor Dave Roelli presented Mike McDermott with a plaque on behalf of the City of
Darlington, thanking him for his commitment to the City while serving as Mayor.
Mayor Roelli then asked for nominations for Council President. Motion by Black,
seconded by Sonsalla, to nominate and elect Joe Boll as Council President. All ayes. Motion
carried.
Discussion was then held concerning the designation of the official newspaper for the City.
After discussion and consideration, motion by Corley, seconded by Boll, to designate the
Republican Journal as the official newspaper for the City of Darlington. All ayes. Motion carried.
Motion by Black, seconded by Sonsalla, to designate the following banks, depositories,
and investment institutions for deposit of City funds: Bank of New Glarus, Woodford State Bank
– Darlington; Apple River State Bank; State of Wisconsin Local Government Investment Pool;
and Wayne Hummer and Co. Inc., for investment in U.S. Treasury Securities. All ayes. Motion
carried.
Mayor Roelli then reported on current projects for new Council members. He stated the
Splashpad project is currently underway, the Walnut Ridge Subdivision project is set to begin soon,
and the apartment complex project located near Sienna Crest will begin soon.
There being no further business for this meeting, motion by Corley, seconded by Boll, to
adjourn the meeting at 6:52 PM. Motion carried.

A re-organizational meeting will be held on Tuesday, April 21, 2026, at 6:45 PM in the
Council Room at the Darlington Municipal Building for the following:
1. Call to order by presiding officer.
2. Roll Call
3. Motion that the meeting notice and agenda were properly posted.
4. Administer Official Oath to recently elected Alderpersons.
5. Elect a Council President.
6. Designate the official newspaper for the City.
7. Designate banks of depositories and investment institutions.
9. Discussion on current projects for new Council members.
10. Adjourn the meeting.
