Board of Director Meeting September 2024
Meeting Held: September 23, 2024
1. Call to Order: By President Alex Santacruz at 6:28PM, all are present
2. Roll Call: Candi Fitzsimons, Cindy Corley, Sonja Wiegel, Matt Walter, Alex
Santacruz, Patti Taylor, Shawn O’Brien, Carly Winslow
3. Motion Meeting notice and agenda were properly posted
a. 1st Winslow, 2nd Wiegel. Motion Carried.
4. Approval of minutes from previous meeting
a. 1st Corley, 2nd Winslow. Motion Carried.
5. Comment and suggestions from citizens or other parties
a. None Present
6. Unfinished business
a. Report on past library events
i. Tot times started back up
ii. Story hours started back up
iii. Janet held a fantasy football draft for the kids-well attended
b. Update on the Library’s Strategic Plan.
i. Community meeting planned for October 2nd, 2024, Jen Beretski will
facilitate. 10 confirmed participants thus far.
ii. WILS has developed a survey that will be distributed around the
community in several different forms. Will go live after the
community meeting-later in October.
c. 2025 Library Budget
i. The final proposed library budget was discussed
1. Mayor McDermott approved a 4% wage increase
2. Health insurance rose dramatically from the previous year
3. Library vs city expenses examined
ii. 1 Corley, 2nd O’Brien to approve the 2025 Library Budget as

presented by Candi. Motion Carried.
7. New Business
a. Upcoming Events
i. October 1st-informational meeting for community regarding The
Lafayette County Free Clinic
ii. October 2nd-Community meeting for the Library’s Strategic Plan taking
place
iii. October 3rd-Migratory Bird Day. Displays, books, and activities for
kids will be on display
iv. October 8th-Chad Lewis will be back for Haunted Wisconsin
presentation
v. October 31st-Halloween. Will have treats and games available for the
kids all day.
vi. Tot time Wednesdays and Story Hour Fridays will continue.
b. Approval of payment for vouchers #4578 through #4588 in the amount of
$5,101.15
i. 1st Walter, 2nd Wiegel. Motion Carried.
8. Set next meeting date and adjourn
a. Next Meeting: Monday, October 21st 6:30pm
b. Adjournment: 1st Corley, 2nd Winslow. Motion Carried. Meeting Adjourned at
7pm.

2. Roll call.
3. Motion the meeting notice and agenda were properly posted.
4. Approve minutes taken at any preceding meeting of the said library board, rectifying mistakes
if any exist.
5. Comments and suggestions from citizens or other interested parties present.
6. Unfinished business of the board from the previous meeting.
(a) Report on past library events.
(b) Update on the library’s Strategic Plan.
(c) Discussion and action, if necessary, concerning the proposed 2025 Library budget.
7. New business or matters to be taken up by the board.
(a) Notice of upcoming events.
(b) Approve payment of the following August 2024 vouchers: Librarian account
vouchers #4578 through #4588 in the amount of $5,101.15.
8. Set the next meeting date and adjourn the meeting.
