Johnson Public Library Board of Directors Meeting, February 2026 Meeting Held: February 16, 2026 1. Call to Order: By President Wiegel at 6:32PM 2. Roll Call: Present: Janet Trout, Matt Walter, John Knellwolf, Cindy Corley, Sonja Wiegel, Alex Santacruz, and Carly Winslow. Absent: Patti Taylor 3. Motion that meeting and agenda were properly posted a. 1st Winslow, 2nd Walter. Motion Carried 4. Approval of Minutes of Previous Meeting a. 1st Corely, 2nd Knellwolf. Motion Carried 5. Reports, comments, and suggestions a. None Present 6. Unfinished Business a. Andrew Carnegie Award i. Received $10,000 Grant to be used for “betterment of library and community” ii. Unsure of plan, but ideas were shared iii. One of 3 libraries in our system to receive b. Report on past library events i. Totals for January 1. 2155 check outs/renewals 2. 7 new patrons 3. As of February 16 at 9am: 1260 materials checked out at a value of approx. $15355 checked out ii. 178 participants in story hour and tot time iii. Tea blend workshop well attended iv. Mobile library for homeschool co-op4-H at the Library v. Fantasy Football wrapped up vi. Movie at the Driver-High School Musical vii. Medicare talks held viii. Book clubs and Mahjong groups continue ix. Book voting is completed and our results sent  x.Staff training regarding ICE xi.Janet has started her 2nd class xii.Olympics viewing continues xiii.Everyone received their 3% wage increase as approved by Mayer McDermott xiv. Bluey Valentine’s Day Party very well attended 7. New business a. Review and approval of Annual Report i. 1st Winslow, 2nd Corley. Motion Carried. Annual Report Approved b. Approval of Upcoming CD renewals i. 1st Winslow, 2nd Walter to approve a subcommittee of Trout, Knellwolf, and Corley to review CD renewals and renew as they see fit. Motion Carried. Will have update next month. c. Review and approval of Display and Exhibit Policy i. 1st Knellwolf, 2nd Winslow to approve the policy with small addition. Motion Carried d. Upcoming Events i. February 17th Celebrate the Chinese New Year ii. Feburary 20th 4-H at the Library 2pm iii. Olympics viewing will continue through February 22nd iv. March 20th 4-H at the Library 2pm v. March 20th ADRC Memory Screenings 10am vi. March 26th Author Talk Jeff Rich vii. April 9th Author Talk Ray McKoski viii. April 16th Author Talk Nickolas Butler ix. May 18th Author Talk Jessica Aasve and Ashley Arn x. Summer Reading Program planning underway. Theme: On Earth: The Story e. Approval of payments #4831-#4837 i. 1st Knellworlf, 2nd Walter.
