PLAN COMMISSION MEETING MINUTES
JULY 1, 2025
The meeting was called to order by Mayor Mike McDermott at 6:45 PM. Present at roll call were:
Jeff McCarthy, Fritz Hanewall, Dave Roelli, and Mike McDermott. Absent: Kyle McCarville and Joe Boll.
Also present were: Cindy Corley, Steve Pickett, Kerry Black, John Sonsalla, and Amy Johnson.
Motion by Roelli, seconded by Hanewall, that the meeting notice and agenda were properly posted.
Motion carried. Motion by McCarthy, seconded by Hanewall, to approve the minutes of the previous
meeting. Motion carried.
Under new business, discussion was held concerning the sign permit request from Lafayette County
Democratic Party for their business located at 308 Main Street. Copies of the Darlington Chamber/Main
Street Façade & Sign Approval Application, rendering of signs, and a letter from the Building Inspector,
Mike Reuter, were included in the packet. After discussion, motion by McCarthy, seconded by Hanewall
to approve the sign permit request from Lafayette County Democratic Party for their business located at
308 Main Street as presented. Motion carried.
There being no further business for this meeting, motion by Roelli, seconded by McCarthy, to
adjourn the meeting at 6:48 PM. Motion carried.

1. Call to order by presiding officer.
2. Roll call.
3. Motion that the meeting notice and agenda were properly posted.
4. Approve the minutes of the previous meeting, rectifying mistakes if any exist. (Copy enclosed)
5. Reports, comments, suggestions, and recommendations of citizens present.
6. Unfinished or deferred business from previous Plan Commission meetings.
7. New business. Including but not limited to the introduction of Ordinances and Resolutions.
(a) Discussion and action concerning the sign permit request from Lafayette County
Democratic Party for their business located at 308 Main Street.
8. Adjourn the meeting.
