CALL TO ORDER: The meeting was called to order at 6:06 pm. 2. ROLL CALL: Present: 4 - Member Eric Taulbee Member Cheri Taylor Member Troy Shimkus Member Sherwin Kendall Excused: 3 - Vice Chair Sonjia Kihlmire Member James Diehl Member Maritza Avila-Vazquez 3. APPROVAL OF MINUTES & AGENDA: Minutes of March 2, 2017 Motion by Member Taulbee, seconded by Member Shimkus, to accept the Minutes of March 2, 2017. The motion carried by the following vote: For: 4 - Member Taulbee, Member Taylor, Member Shimkus and Member Kendall 4. PRESENTATIONS/AWARDS/REPORTS: 5. PUBLIC FORUM: 6. OLD BUSINESS: 7. NEW BUSINESS: Discussion: Carports Mr. Bowley spoke to the Committee regarding the City's residential development patterns, master development communities, lot drainage, Land Development Code standards, setbacks, and easement requirements for accessory structures. Discussion occurred regarding building code standards, aesthetics, and code enforcement ensued. City of Deltona Page 1 Printed on 5/1/2017 Ordinance Review Committee Minutes April 6, 2017 Mr. Bowley noted that for future discussions he will invite the Building Official and/or a representative from Code Enforcement and suggested that the committee research the different types of carports permitted in Code if Ordinances. Chairman Taylor questioned why this topic is under review. Member Kendall asked if there is any data, code violations or lawsuits regarding carports. Member Shimkus and Chairman Taylor requested additional guidance for the Committee. Member Shimkus requested electronic data surrounding any code cases and offered to analyze patterns. Discussion occurred regarding the reason the Committee is reviewing carports and design standards for carports and to determineif there is any issue related to them for future lot function in the City. 8.
