RE: Senior Services Signage.
Ted Austin stated the lighted sign on Madison has vinyl letters that read Senior Services. Alan
Frost Public Works will change this to read Senior Center. The letters on the front of the
building were installed by George Lay Sign Company and they are working on a cost estimate.
Ted said the way finding signs are targeted so the driver passing by can read them safely and are
meant to direct people to the Welcome Center for more specific location directions. He said at
this point there will be no changes to the signs. Ted stated additional signs would be a
distraction. Discussion was held. Eleanor Underwood stated the Board appreciated Ted’s
explanation, and his attention to the signs here which will be very helpful. Tom Davidson asked
why the skate board park has its own signs and why is it more important than the Senior Center?
Ted stated the skate board park is in a location by itself. Jim Burgess stated he appreciates Ted’s
effort in this regard and any change made is an improvement. Jim said if there is anything the
1
Board needs to do to help please let them know. Ted said the manager has it on radar if and
when changes are made to the way finding sign system, then she will consider a change or if it is
still the best bang for the buck for all they are trying to do.
