RE: Accreditation.
Dee Williams and Jim Burgess are going to work on Accreditation Purpose and Planning
standard.
RE: Sedgwick County Department on Aging Board.
Jim Burgess stated one of the benefits of being appointed to the Sedgwick County Department
on Aging Advisory Board is they are touring all the senior centers in Sedgwick County. Jim said
Linwood Senior Center gave him a newsletter stating they are involved in the Dillon’s Club card
program. Jim said Derby Senior Center is not on the list and this would be a good program to
participate in. Discussion was held. Jim said the seniors would need to register on the computer
and he would be happy to show them how.
RE: Nacho Ordinary Bingo.
Duane Day stated that he has heard nothing but positive comments about the Board sponsored
Nacho Ordinary Bingo. Discussion was held.

RE: Advisory Board Fund report for July 2015.
Diane Schmitt gave the Advisory Board Fund report for June. The deposit total was $802.45 and
expenditures total $571.81 with an ending balance $13,118.99.
MOTION: Duane Day moved to receive and file the Advisory Board Fund report for July.
Janice Neagle seconded.
VOTE: 4 yea, motion carried.

RE: Approve July 3, 2015 Advisory Board Meeting minutes.
MOTION: Jim Burgess made a motion to approve the minutes from July 1, 2015. Duane Day
seconded.
VOTE: 4 yea, motion carried.

RE: Approve July 2015 Derby Dash Scholarship Report.
Dee Williams gave the report for the July Derby Dash Scholarship Report. There was
$40 used for scholarships in July, leaving an ending balance $584.33.
MOTION: Diane Schmitt made a motion to approve the Derby Dash Scholarship Report for
July 2015. Duane Day seconded.
VOTE: 4 yea, motion carried.

RE: Mayor Randy White.
Dee Williams introduced Mayor Randy White to the Board and thanked him for attending the
Advisory Board Meeting. Mayor White said he was very interested in the Senior Center and the
Derby Dash ridership. Mayor White stated the Derby Dash is a city and federally funded
program with no limitations who can use it. Discussion was held. The Mayor listened to various
statements from the Board about the Derby Dash.
Mayor White mentioned the new Senior Housing development that will be built behind Target.
The Mayor encouraged the Board to watch the paper for information and to feel free to send him
an email if they have questions. Mayor White stated affordable senior housing has been on the
list of things needed in Derby for a long time.
Mayor White stated another great thing coming to Derby is the Wesley Emergency Center.
When asked if the mayor is available for appointments he said that appointments can be made by
calling to schedule one. Mayor White said the Dinosaur Park is still in the planning stages.
Eleanor Underwood asked the Mayor to always keep the senior center in mind when issues come
through his office because it keeps the seniors in their own home and cost the tax payer less
money if they remain active.

RE: July TNT.

Kim Hart let the Board know 66 people were fed at the July TNT with a total profit $180.69.
Agenda Item #7
RE: Derby Panther Football.
Dee Williams explained to the Board that in the past the Board has adopted a Derby Panther
Football player for $100 which gets advertisement in the community for the senior center.
MOTION: Duane Day made a motion the Board gives $100 to Adopt a Panther Football Player
program. Janice Neagle seconded.
VOTE: 4 yea, motion carried

RE: Quilt Ticket Sales.
Kim Hart stated total amount for Quilt ticket sales in July was $274.

MOTION: Jim Burgess made a motion for adjournment. Duane Day seconded.
VOTE: 4 yea, motion carried
