APPROVED SUMMARY MINUTES SENIOR SERVICES ADVISORY BOARD 10:00 A.M. March 2, 2016 CITY OF DERBY ROLL CALL GERALD BROWNLEE JANICE NEAGLE JIM BURGESS DIANE SCHMITT, TREASURER - ABSENT TOM DAVIDSON, SECRETARY ELEANOR UNDERWOOD, CHAIRMAN DUANE DAY, VICE CHAIRMAN CITY STAFF DEE WILLIAMS KIM HART Public Forum Agenda Item #1 RE: Derby Senior Center Survey. Dee Williams stated the 2015 survey results will be completed in April for Board review. RE: City Alcohol Plan. Dee Williams stated the City is reviewing the City Alcohol Plan for updates, including adding the Austin Room and Welcome Center Lobby to be able to serve alcohol. Dee asked for board comments and one board member was opposed. RE: Senior Manors. Janice Neagle stated the patrons who were visiting during the Valentine Party made it difficult to hear the entertainment. She agreed with Dee’s Notes in the Prime Times Newsletter which asked patrons to go to the lobby or another room to visit. RE: City Council Meeting. Dee Williams thanked the Board members for attending the February 23rd City Council meeting. Eleanor Underwood added that the City Manager Kathy Sexton spoke very highly of the Derby Senior Center. Agenda Item #2 RE: Advisory Board Fund report February 2016. Duane Day gave the Advisory Board Fund report for February 2016. The deposits totaled $698, expenditures were $702.48 with an ending balance $13,723.82. MOTION: Gerald Brownlee moved to receive and file the Advisory Board Fund report for February 2016. Tom Davidson seconded. 1 VOTE: 5 yea, motion carried. Agenda Item #3 RE: Approve February 2016 Advisory Board Meeting minutes. MOTION: Gerald Brownlee made a motion to approve the minutes from February 3, 2016. Janice Neagle seconded. VOTE: 5 yea, motion carried. Agenda Item #4 RE: Approve February 2016 Derby Dash Scholarship Report. Dee Williams gave the report for the February Derby Dash Scholarship Report. There was $100 in donations and $250 used for scholarships in February, leaving an ending balance $529. MOTION: Tom Davidson made a motion to approve the Derby Dash Scholarship Report for February 2016. Duane Day seconded. VOTE: 5 yea, motion carried. Agenda Item #5 RE: Accreditation. Dee Williams stated the Accreditation book has now been mailed to NISC, Maurine Oleary for review. Dee explained the Accreditation review process. Agenda Item #6 RE: February 2016 TNT. Tom Davidson stated they served Taco Salad and the report will be given at the April Board meeting. Agenda Item #7 RE: March 3, 2016 – No Covered Dish Lunch. Dee Williams let the Board know the Informational Free Lunch will be in place of the March Cover Dish Lunch. Agenda Item #8 RE: 2016 Derby High School After Prom. 2 Dee Williams explained to the board that in the past they have donated to the Derby High School After Prom. Discussion was held and it was decided they had given $150 last year. MOTION: Gerald Brownlee made a motion the Board donate $150 to the Derby High School After Prom. Tom Davidson seconded. VOTE: 5 yea, motion carried. ADJOURNMENT MOTION: Duane Day made a motion for adjournment. Janice Neagle seconded. VOTE: 5 yea, motion carried Meeting adjourned at 10:28 A.M.
