Public Works – Street sign maintenance, curb maintenance, landscaping at community
park.

Parks and Recreation – Backboards will need updated at the Community Park due to
damage to one of the hoops/board.

Pool Committee – PW Landscaping and pumps installed Sara Cowan reported
flowers will be planted in May at the Derry Community Pool and downtown by support
of DARCee.
Grants – CDBG Grant Application should be decided upon near May 31, 2023. Once
notified of the funding available, council can move forward with approving Gibson-
Thomas to prepare plans for the paving project in 3rd Ward.
ANNOUNCEMENTS
Derry Borough Council went into executive session at the Derry Borough Council
Worksession held on May 2, 2023 at 7:54pm for personnel reasons. Executive
session ended at 8:04pm.

DARCee meeting 4th Weds 7pm monthly
Derry Area Historical Society – Board Meeting are held at the Fulton House on
the 3rd Monday monthly at 6:30pm. There website is derryhistory.org Please

Derry Railroad Days Committee meets the 3rd Tuesday monthly at 6:30pm at AV
Germano Hall (Alternative meeting place is the Fulton House in New Derry)

Craft & Vendor Show May 13th, 2023 AV Germano Hall sponsored by Dragon
Gems & Denise Wood to benefit the Derry Outdoor Community Pool 9am-3pm
Derry Borough / Derry Area Clean-up Days hosted by DARCee and supported
by Westmoreland Cleanways with supplies available for the event. Event dates
will be May 20, 2023 - May 27, 2023. Participants can clean up on their
timeframe and post pictures of their helpers with their collection results on the
DARCee facebook page during this time. DARCee is going to make a contest out
of the photos posted and a prize will be given to the best creative/photo posted.
Safety tips and information will be posted on the DARCee event facebook page
with other information.
The Derry Presbyterian Church, located at the corner of Chestnut Street and
Presby Way in Derry, PA will be hosting a Rummage Sale, Saturday, June 3,
2023 from 8:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. The kitchen will be open to purchase $2.00
hotdogs/sauerkraut and 50 ¢ bottled water. Items for sale include glassware,
kitchen utensils and small appliances, Christmas decorations, puzzles, children’s
toys/bikes, clothing, entertainment center, electronics and lots of other treasures!
Watch for the signs! You can see us from the Bridge! This sale will go on Rain or
Shine! All proceeds benefit the Roof Repair Fund!
