Public Safety Committee Meeting Minutes Wednesday, August 6, 2025 6:00 p.m. Present: Councilpersons Larry Browne, Bob Kinney, Connor O'Hanlon, and Amy Popkin. Also in attendance were Borough Fire Marshal Scott Fleischer and Borough Manager John Davis. The Minutes of the June meeting were approved as submitted. Green Street Complete Streets Concept Plan. John presented the concept plan for bicycle/pedestrian/traffic calming improvements for Green Street including sidewalks, crosswalks, bump outs, speed tables, and a pedestrian activated crossing signal. The plan is designed to improve pedestrian/bike access and safety and to calm traffic. It's the first phase of an overall plan for improvements to Pebble Hill Road in cooperation with Doylestown Township and the Bike and Hike Committee. John said if the Committee endorsed the plan, a grant application would be prepared for Council in October. The Committee unanimously and enthusiastically endorsed the plan. West Court Street Turn Restrictions at CB West Parking Lot. John explained the restrictions were part of the newly approved transportation plan for CB West, approved by Council along with the proposed expansion. The draft ordinance restricts left hand turns to and from the CB West parking lot on West Court Street. The Committee voted unanimously to recommend the advertisement of the ordinance to Borough Council. Public Events. Information was shared on the upcoming Travis Manion 5K Run and the Spooktacular Halloween Parade. Emergency Preparedness and Communications Board Update. Larry reported the Committee is meeting regularly and doing excellent work. CBRPC Report (Mayor). Mayor West was not in attendance. Old/New Business. Resident Judith Stratton requested parking and access be limited on Church Street, south of Ashland Street, during the Arts Festival. The Committee agreed to provide a barricade. Adjourned: 7:00 PM
