MINUTES CITY OF DRIPPING SPRINGS FARMERS MARKET ASSOCIATION REGULAR MEETING Tuesday, March 5, 2013 10:00 a.m. City Hall 511 Mercer Street Dripping Springs, Texas This facility is wheelchair accessible and accessible parking spaces are available. MEETING CALLED TO ORDER AND ROLL CALL Marianne Simmons, Chair Gina Gillis Kambra Bolch Gouri Johannsen Danny Turner Sandy Pedrazas Jo Ann Touchstone, Secretary Thomas Brownson Marianne calls the meeting to order at 10:05 a.m. All present except Thomas and Danny. Also present Market Manager Carolyn Hodges. II. PRESENTATIONS BY CITIZENS Floor open to discussion on any subject. No action may be taken by law. Citizens wishing to speak shall do so after being recognized by the Chair. The Chair may establish a time limit as necessary. No one speaks. III. MINUTES A. Approval of Regular Meeting Minutes, February 12, 2013 - Gina motions to approve with addition of date for Starbella event. Jo Ann seconds. Motion passes, 5-0. IV. REPORTS A. Update on Advertising and Signage – Jo Ann reports on banners, radio and local media. B. Update on School Gardens – Gouri and Carolyn will continue meetings with teachers and leaders of the Outdoor School and work out details for students to be at the market with any harvests, possibly in the fall. V. BUSINESS Discussion and Possible Action regarding: A. Planning for 2013 Season 1. Event with Starbella Dance – Annie Watts present. Commission discusses event, advertising, possible sponsors, parking and safety. 2. Partnerships with Local Food Establishments – No updates. 3. Season Kick Off - Carolyn and Jo Ann will both be on site. B. Review of 2013 Vendor Applications – Board reviews apps. Will clarify with Sunshine Café they are able to stay till close of market. Jo Ann and Carolyn will follow up with potential vendors. C. 2013 Vendor Inspections – Needed for Mick Farm, Moody Farm, and Custom Collars. Jo Ann exits meeting. D. Rules and Regulations for Service Providers and Non Profits – Items D and E, Kambra will draft language for review at next meeting. E. Rules and Regulations for Booth Sharing – see line item D. F. Founders Day Parade Float – Board inquires if there is a fee. Will make a decision at next meeting as to whether or not to participate. G. Letter of Support to Farm and Ranch Freedom Alliance for Proposed Legislation Affecting Farmers Markets – Gouri motions to send letter of support. Marianne seconds. Motion passes, 4-0. VII. ADJOURN – Marianne motions to adjourn. Gouri seconds. Meeting adjourned at 12:00 p.m.
