MINUTES CITY OF DRIPPING SPRINGS FARMERS MARKET ASSOCIATION REGULAR MEETING Tuesday, May 14, 2013 10:00 a.m. City Hall 511 Mercer Street Dripping Springs, Texas This facility is wheelchair accessible and accessible parking spaces are available. MEETING CALLED TO ORDER AND ROLL CALL Marianne Simmons, Chair Gina Gillis Kambra Bolch Gouri Johannsen Sandy Pedrazas Vacancy Jo Ann Touchstone, Secretary Thomas Brownson Marianne calls the meeting to order at 10:00 a.m. All present except Gina Gillis and Thomas Browson. Also present Market Manager Carolyn Hodges. II. PRESENTATIONS BY CITIZENS Floor open to discussion on any subject. No action may be taken by law. Citizens wishing to speak shall do so after being recognized by the Chair. The Chair may establish a time limit as necessary. None. III. MINUTES A. Approval of Regular Meeting Minutes, April 2, 2013 – Marianne motions to approve. Gouri seconds. Motion passes, 5-0. B. Approval of Special Meeting Minutes, April 23, 2013 – Kambra motion to approve with changes noted. Marianne seconds. Motion passes, 5-0. IV. REPORTS No Action to be Taken: 1. Update Regarding Proposed Legislation Affecting Farmers Markets – Market Manager Jo Ann Touchstone – Jo Ann gives report. 2. Fiscal Year 2013 Budget – Treasurer Gina Gillis – Gina reviews budget. Report on file. 3. Local Restaurant Market Participation – President Marianne Simmons – Marianne provides draft form for local restaurants, which will facilitate purchases from vendors. Marianne will finalize form and make arrangements with Jo Ann and Carolyn to deliver and visit with local chefs. V. BUSINESS Discussion and Possible Action regarding: A. Special Events for 2013 Season – Will contact Fabienne to set date for chef demo. Marianne will pick a date for a canning demonstration. B. Review of 2013 Vendor Applications – No applications to review. Request from Johnsons Backyard garden about steps to join. Board discusses their previous application. Carolyn and Jo Ann will contact to get complete list of items and request an application for review at next board meeting. Board discusses supporting current growers already competing for sales and offering more variety as well as selection for late shoppers. C. Review of April and May Markets – Has been slow with few commuters during late hour. D. Market Advertising for 2013 Season –Jo Ann will follow up with Outlook for June ad. E. Rules and Regulations for Service Providers and Non Profits – Kambra reviews changes and will prepare final draft for next meeting along with non vendor application. Jo Ann and Carolyn will contact non profits about participation. F. Guidelines for Market Event Sponsorships – Marianne motions to approve. Jo Ann seconds. Motion passes, 5-0. VI. ANNOUNCEMENTS  A.
